Main oil drain plug on 17 c63s
I read thru the search function and found the plastic drain plug next to the oil filter. Just want to make sure I have the main one in
my cross hairs. For those who have changed does this starred plug look like the main drain, It is above the black tubular support brace.

I removed that plug and it is the front drain with about 3 quarts......the balance came out of the plastic plug near the filter housing. From the curvuture of the oil pant housing don’t know how a vac evacuation of the oil would remove all the setiments from the bottom. Anyway I used a T 40 with a box wrench to remove the front drain.....none of the posts mention you have 1.5 inches to play with because of the cross bar beneath.

On the new engine, there isn't a dip stick, so vacuum extraction is a no-go. The filter is also on the bottom now, so we are back to the old ways of raising the car and pulling the plastics off to do a service.

The metal plug for the upper oil pan on my '15 takes a 1/4 in. drive 6 mm stubby hex socket.
I bought the socket as well as a new plug & sealing ring for next oil change.
I guessed wrong so I have a 7 mm & a 6 mm socket.
The plug in your picture takes a T 40?
How much oil did yours take after draining both pans & changing filter?

No need of special tools to remove that front plug; all you need to do is once the car is in te air lift the front by using the oem rubber point below the engine. This will give you enough space to use a ratchet with an extension

First the front plug is aluminum not metal. It is very delicate and if you do not get a tight fit can strip. I suggest using a new T40 and not one that has wear. I let everything drain over night. About 3.5 quarts came out of the front plug. Another 5.5 from the plastic plug adjacent the filter ( includes filter oil). If one is careful the plastic plug can be used several times.....although I bought an extra. A hex might work but make sure there is no play. Yes I have the red capped oil level stick also.

I take pride in usually not having a drop of oil on the ground (or on myself) when changing the oil on my cars. This experience with my AMG surely has paid for that. This was the messiest oil change job that I have ever done. The oil from the plastic plug comes RUSHING OUT and my oil drain pan was not able to keep up. It overflowed all over my pants, floor, etc... So that's a warning to all.

I put car on ramps & then used floor jack on OEM rubber point to raise car. This did provide clearance to use T-40 on upper
pan metal plug. The 6mm hex would probably work as well.
I drained lower pan first by removing plastic plug. Only a few oz. drained from the upper pan.
The oil does come out fast from lower pan. I use open drain pan and transfer to another container
to recycle. A pan with a small opening cannot manage the flow & will result in a mess.

Also take a pic of the tools that you are using. Maybe you have a "super short" stubby 6mm ratchet that fits above the black stabilizer bar....

The hard rubber block is about 3" x 2" and is exposed through 2nd panel under car about 18" from front of car.
(next oil change may be a year away so I won't have pic soon)
Actually I could not access top pan plug with the stubby 6mm hex & small ratchet until I raised the car with the floor jack.
At that point I used T-40 which is probably a better fit.
As discussed, after draining from plastic plug (lower pan) and filter housing, there was hardly enough
left in upper pan to warrant removing metal plug.
