Satin Black Wheel Cleaner

Satin Black Wheel Cleaner
Hello, first time Merc owner here. Just purchased a brand new 2017 C63S Sedan with the 19” cross spoke matte/satin black wheels. I wanted to see what products you all used to properly clean these wheels without harming the finish. I have used Chemical Guys DeconPro to remove stubborn iron deposits from my previous F80 M3 and it worked great, however I am fearful of ruining the finish on the wheels. I have heard Dr Beasley’s Matte Wheel cleaner works well. Any suggestions on what to use. The car I bought has some slight browning in the barrel of the wheels and some water spots as well. Nothing horrible but would like to clean properly. Also, what wheels brushes do you use to clean the barrel of the wheel? I have heard great things about the speedmaster wheel brush as well as the wheel whoolies brushes.
Any help you all can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Griots wheel cleaner slightly diluted, Griots foaming sprayer. .....combo of wheel woolies (medium? and large) and a wheel brush help make cleaning a little easier. I don’t like the overspray caused when using speed master type brushes. Air blowers help in speeding up the drying process.

I use the regular griots cleaner. I will also add that the ez /speed master type brushes are great on wheels with larger openings (are also a little better in removing heavier grime given the bristles) but on the more closed/cross spokes amg wheels they really cause an overspray mess on one’s arms/legs.
Chemical Guys Diablo wheel cleaner looks to do a great job, I’m going to order some.

I use AmmoNYC Plum Wheel Cleaner, about every other wash. But I also had my detailer clean them and coat them with ceramic coating, so that should help for just a little while.

I went ahead and purchased some Dr. Beasleys Matte Wheel cleaner along with some wheel woolie wands. I will let everyone know how well this product works if any of you are interested.

Awesome. Any tips you would pass along? Do you clean the wheels with soap and water first and then apply the matte wheel cleaner and clean again? Any suggestions on best way to apply the sealant? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Do you need a pH neutralizer between cleaning and sealant? Thanks in advance!

satin wheels
in discussion w HRE wheels. they suggest only soap and water on satin finish wheels. then a spray wax to help reduce buildup between cleanings. i told them i used Chem guys wheel cleaner and they said not to bc they have seen some satin finishes ruined w that brand. surprising to me, have been using Chem guys stuff for few years. They preferred Mothers brand products. hmmmm. i think the least chemicals u can use the best. but i am not an expert. will try soap and water w wax spray. thoughts anybody?

P21s wheel cleaner.. I used to be a detail nut before my back got super bad.. from $1000 waxes to paint gauges and polishes I went all in and learned how to do a concourse level detail.. though I will admit I haven’t been kept up to date on any newer products. p21s is 100% acid free and gently removes brake dust from all types wheels. I would be hard pressed to find something that works as well and is as gentle on the finish as p21s wheel cleaner. I know guys that only do exotic/hyper car details and that’s all they use.

Im with purplewidow. The p21s is amazing! I've been using it for years and never had any issues. I had satin wheels on my 911s and now the c63 (same wheels as above) Let it sit for a little and the brake dust comes right off with no problems. Good luck.
