2019 C63
2019 C63 vs C63S Coupe

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm about to place an order when the book opens for a 2019 C63/C63S coupe and wanted to make sure that my analysis was spot on as I make my decision between a S vs a non-S.

Key Differences:
Electronic LSD no longer a difference in MY19
Dynamic Engine Mounts no longer a difference in MY19 according to R&T. However, this appears to be conflicting with DOG information so TBD.
503hp/516tq vs 469hp/479tq
Leather Standard in C63S
Composite and/or (ceramic) Breaking System on the C63S

Other Differences:
19"/20" wheels available on the S. Additionally, option price is $350 less on the S for the AMG Cross Spoke Wheels that I plan on ordering
Carbon Fiber Interior Trim - discount of $325 on the S compared to the non-S
C63S has a slightly different steering wheel that's available as a $500 option on the non-S

The major differentiation for me in prior MY's was that the S had the electronic LSD, however, given the following;
1) I don't like leather seats
2) I would love the brakes but can't justify the price difference for them
3) I plan on giving the car a tune later down the line, so power differences are negligible in the long term
4) Anticipated price difference (optioned how I'd like it) is about $7,000 / ~10%

I'm leaning toward the non-S. Hoping to get some validation and or counterpoints/thoughts from the group.

Am I missing something big in my analysis?

If all of that is accurate, I'd go for the C63 (non-S) and put the money you save toward tuning, new wheels, etc.

Since you're going to tune it, i would just get the non-s. If you wanted to keep everything stock, c63s is a good choice.

Yeah - I had seen that post but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Seems to me as if they may have cannibalized their own product by removing a lot of the differentiation between the trims.

Yeah - that's the impression that I received from reading through the D.O.G., but didn't find it explicit. R&T had this quote in their article;

"Mechanically, the biggest change is to the transmission. Gone is the old, slightly clunky seven-speed auto, replaced by AMG's nine-speed unit. Instead of a traditional torque converter, the gearbox uses a wet clutch, which the company claims saves weight and optimizes response. The electronic limited-slip differential, which previously came only in S models, is now standard across the C63 lineup. Dynamic engine mounts are also now standard."

Probably a safer assumption to presume that it's still a difference between S and non-S.

The C63 doesn't have race mode but it absolutely does have race start.
