Traction control problem or power problem?

So I decided to do donuts before getting new tyres. I put it in race mode with traction control off. 2 second into the donuts, the car cut out power compeletly for about 2 sec then full power came back on. For the duration of the donuts, it kept doing that. I heard that espn aren’t fully off to do donuts & that you have to go into dyno mode. Has anyone had this problem while doing donuts? Is this an engine problem? (I dont have a problem accelerationg from a full stop & no boost problem) please excuse my bad grammer, english is not my first language

to turn traction control off fully, did you keep the button pressed in for at least 3 seconds?

More than likely you’re in ESP Sport, not traction fully off. Hold down the ESP button like mentioned, and you’ll fully disable traction control.

I went out & tried it again with traction off. Same thing happened, so I restart her & problem gone

Should drift around fine with the system full off. Try putting the car in dyno mode. The germans really don't like to let you go crazy, even when everything is "off" it's not really off, that's why they include a dyno mode for testing that actually disables everything fully.

That’s what I heard too. If you don’t mind me asking, how do I put it in dyno mode? I have a 2018 coupe if that makes any difference.

Get into service menu in the cluster (tons of places explain that), then enable dyno mode.

Don’t use dyno mode on the street... it’s for rolling roads only and will disable more than just your traction (ABS will be disabled). Definitely not recommended.

With traction fully off, there are no traction aids. I can roast the tires with a rolling burnout up to 70+ mph with it off.
