2015 ED1 C63S
Picture completely stock.
Hello all,
I bought a 2015 ED1 C63S about a month ago now. I bought it with 5k miles, went to the dealer for a different car but it didn't work out. It was front and center on the showroom floor and immediately grabbed my attention. The 72 yr old lady that had it must of not driven it in the rain ever. It even had cob webs along the exhaust pipes from never being driven! I figured since its low mileage and it was a grandma that had it, it was probably a good car to jump into. I ended up driving off the lot with it for 59k, MSRP was 89k I believe. I live in socal and since then I took it to Protective Film Solutions and had them put PPF on the front half of the car and ceramic coat the whole car and the wheels, along with blacking out all the emblems and rear trunk trim. Looking into getting a tune through Renntech, but I've heard back and forth that it will void your warranty and others say it will not void the warranty. I like my warranties! Nevertheless, excited to have this car and can't wait for the fun it brings. If the picture of it completely stock uploads, it is designo white, I wanted polar white but can't complain.

Dinan is the only one that will retain your warranty rather they will pay for the damage if found to be related to the tune and the dealer does not

Also, to the original poster that bought the car, depending on the delivery date of your car you probably only have 8 or 9 months left on the factory warranty. If you're worried about keeping your warranty, you might not have to worry for long.

so I've been reading different articles and how they say these are rare and limited production cars. The ED 1 is solely all cosmetic upgrades and nothing's been done for performance wise as far as I know. Did they produce ED 1 every single years or just 2015. I believe ive seen 2017's and they were also talking about releasing 2018's. Anyone of you guys know how many they produced in 2015?

The sedan was released in spring 2015 as a MY2015, so the ED1 sedans will all be MY2015. The couple was released in 2016 as a MY2017 car, so all ED1 coupe will be MY2017.

The Edition 1 cars are special versions that are released with the new model release. Basically the "first edition" to come off the assembly line. They are only cosmetic packages (nothing mechanical is different), but the cosmetic changes are unique to the ED1 cars and aren't available on others cars as options.

As I see it either way the warranty will be up soon and then its time for the Renntech. What stage are you considering doing? You should also do a front lip, diffuser on the back bumper, and black out the tail lights. I love the car though you got it for a steal.

I read somewhere that there were somewhere around 183 of them or so. When I was buying the car, a gentleman came in wanting to buy it but I had already been doing the paperwork. He told me I was lucky to find an ED1 sedan let alone a 5k mile one driven by a grandma. I know the W204 C63 ED1 sedans only had 60 made, so I believe the numbers are less than a couple hundred. Don't know exactly though, I'm sure someone on here does.

Probably just the tune. I play on doing a diffuser and front lip, not a fan of blacking out the tail lights though. My son has a connection with RW Carbon, hope to get some carbon soon.

For your PPF, how did they work around the badges? Did they take them off and put them back on? Your fit looks perfect from the picture.
Did they need to remove badges for ceramic coating as well? I'm personally considering both.

I got it redone from the first time... they cut around the emblem so I told them to redo it with removal... unfortunately they used the razor when they were cutting around the emblem so now I’m dealing with the line around it... don’t ever let them cut around the emblem becuase they will use the razor to cut around them.... left with the razor cut on clean fenders

They took all the badges off and then put them back on. They have a great process for placing them back exactly like it came. Protective Film Solutions does great work.

Ok, good to know. Seems like California gets all the best auto work shops. Any idea on how much $ I should expect for front PPF and ceramic coat?

Front PPF package was hood, fenders, whole front fascia, headlights, mirrors was 2k. I did their gold ceramic coat package which was $900 which is warranty for 5 years. They had a silver package which is the same product just warrantied for 3 years for $650. I also did all four wheels for $400. They painted all my badges black for $200.
