C63s vs E53
Hey Guys,
I placed an order for an E53 Coupe. Of course delivery got pushed till about January and even potentially later because I have the HUD on order.
In the meanwhile I've been watching a lot of reviews on the car and of the C63s. With the options that I want they both come out to about the same price 84k (E53) 83k (C63s).
Digging into it, I thought I was sure about the E53 but the 2019 C63S seemed to shorten the quality and feature gap between the C and E class.
The drivers assistance package, 360 Parking Cameras and premium package all seem to have caught up with the E class. The biggest differentiation I see is the dual screens vs the 12inch dash display and 10.3 inch C class layout. No Massage function on C class and no Cabin Fragrance. In terms of features not much else major I could see in that area as well the C63 get those cool Mini screen/buttons on the steering wheel.
In terms of drive-ability, def different feel with the Turbo 8 vs the Inline 6. The 19 C has a 3 stage suspension vs the Air Body Control on the E which without driving each is hard to tell how rough/stiff the C63, maybe some of you guys with the E63 that has Air Suspension can comment.
Based on the above I'm leaning on cancelling my order and ordering a 19 C63S but I wanted to get your guys opinion.

Might want to also take into account what you'd be using the car for and where you live - the seasons, weather, road conditions, etc. The C63S is RWD while the E53 is 4matic. Both have summer tires. If you live in Manhattan like I do, we have some brutal winters and lots of potholes. Not the best for a RWD, summer tire vehicle, especially since I will be using it 5 days per week lol! Yet I still went with it over the E63S.

The E will definitely be a more comfortable/compliant ride compared to the C.
IMO Regardless of price choose the one you need/prefer/suits the most, realistically you should be looking at up close and test driving every model your interested in before buying so maybe put a hold rather than cancelling (if your dealer permits) until you check out the new 19 C63's and go from there, if you cancel then re-commit on your original order you may be delayed for months longer.

AMG had 4 E53 Coupes last weekend at Petit Lemans in Atlanta. E53 is absolutely different from the C63. E class is an E class, which is more luxuries, comfortable, larger car compared to the brutal RWD C63.
Sorry, I did not take lot of pictures of the E53 as they were kinda boring looking ;D

Yea the luxurious ride is defiantly something to consider. I'm in the Northeast so bad roads and crappy winters. Not much difference in the features though with the new models.

I thought I would love the dash on the E class but i absolutely HATE it.. I drove an e43 with it when deciding on the c63s That dual screen in one LONG format is just way way too big and distracting.. From pics i thought it looked great.. when i drove an e43 with it i HATED it.
I also am not a fan of the air ride suspension as it dampens the road too much imo... i want to feel the road.. not have it totally muted or the opposite feel like i am on gravel on reg roads.. gotta be in between. Wish we had the massage seats in the c class. I only drove the sedan but the ride was extremely muted.
Also the c class does offer the cabin atomizer fragrances as I ordered it on my 2019 c63s coupe ~6 weeks ago unless something changed.

Yeah I m in the US and ordered the car with it about ~6 weeks ago... I just called my dealer to confirm and they don't see the option anymore for the 2019... It is on the option list under interior accessories for the 2018 on the mbusa website for the c63s coupe though.. The dealer is kind of scratching their heads as to why it is removed for the 2019.

It's an odd one to remove but I'm thinking with all the enhancements to the 19 Class and the 19 E class not getting a ton of interior or feature upgrades besides the engine perhaps they wanted a few things as differentiators.

There's a retrofit available for PF models, hopefully we'll be able to retrofit it on MY19+

Code P21 for air balance which I had on my preface lift.
Worth trying to go for a special factory order as it is available for the facelift.
I'll let you guys know in a few weeks if I'm successful.
