Looking sharp boys. The Panamericana grille looks bang on. What is the difference between the CKS aftermarket Panamericana grille vs OEM? I can't tell a hint of difference between the two.....

@OrientBlue3 and @Beatmenace are you guys happy with your CKS grilles?

Regards
George Lisciandro

Love mine. Wish I bought OEN through so I could use the glass star. I don’t have distronic, I just like the look. CKS had a horrible website early and did not make clear what their offerings were. It’s a great mod for the money, for sure.

Thanks for the reply. Have you noticed that the CKS grille has a more glossy black finish to it on the inside sections compared to stock? Or is that just my eyes playing up?
I think the glossy finish of the CKS grille really suits the night package shine!

CKS has both options available - aftermarket in chrome or black (fits pre-facelift stars only) and OEM in chrome or black. Since mb doesnt technically make a black grill they are painted by an autobody shop. I can confirm that the OEM black grill I received is indeed genuine as it has the "mercedes benz" and parts number embossed in the plastic on the bottom and fits the new distronic star.

Looks like almost every MB (AMG) model will be getting the panamericana grill even lower AMG models:

new e53. Guessing the e63 will also get the grill.
the rear lights are also very different than pre facelift e class. Looks more like a new model than facelift E

I long decided to keep my classic AMG grill and not swap to the (indeed nice looking though) panamerica grill....for exact the reason you see what's happening.

both grill looks good. I prefer the look of the panamerica grill but seeing how a lot of future models will use them, they are becoming less special. I even see c300 changing them out by the owners.

Yeah both grille's are nice but there's something about a C63 with a facelift grille. Definitely gives it more street presence especially when you see one in real life. Anyone else done theirs? Any rolling pics or on the street?

Yeah hard. I agree mate, seeing one driving on the road with the new grille is a different story, it looks menacing.

This was after I got the grille done last week. I got my wife to drive (last one)

Tuff as nails. As much as I would want to update the headlights too the truth is the pfl headlights look way better imo.

Bit of a rarity but in case any one is considering it, here's an Edition 1 Coupe with the Panamericana Grille.

This one and your C63 look great, Jimmy. Where’d you buy the grille and what did parts + labor cost you?

Then the hard graft started. Stripping it out took 2-3 hours of carefully removing parts and lots of fiddly clips. Same for re fitting it all up. Pot rivets. Lots of time drilling out and re fitting. We onky removed one grill at a time and re fitted new part to avoid any potential flex, as warned by BG.

Managed to squeeze in fitting edition 1/ 2019 side skirts also, and these really make the car stand out. Possibly like these more than the grill.....

couple more pics,

Also fitted the edition 1 / 2019 rear spoiler

will post some better pics soon. 2019 rear diffuser and tailpipes on order. Tried fitting rear flicks and failed massively so more research needed in these.
This looks awesome! Looking forward to seeing the diffuser on yours. Have you got a part number for the front splitter? Not many people seem to have done this but it really finishes it off IMO.

I just ordered the grille but I'm thinking I want the rest done now too. Any idea if there is a build thread about? I can't seem to find one and want to make sure I have all the bits I need before I start stripping it down.

I bought all of the parts new from the dealer to do the swap Including the newer style Distronic star and then ended up selling the car. First $500 + shipping takes it. PM if interested. Not on these forums a lot lately.

Hi, rear diffuser done some time ago. Pretty sure I posted a thread on here showing conversion.

Will see if I can find front spoiler part number.

Thanks bud yeh I found it after replying - didn't realise how long ago this was posted!
I just got my panamerica grille today and will probably try and get it on the car next week some time. Any idea on the other bits I'll need like rivets etc?

For the spoiler I can only find carbon fibre parts everywhere I look so please grab that PN if you can find it.

Appreciate the help

Just confirming...if only swapping the Panamericana grille (and not the FL lower pieces) there aren't any protector screens necessary, correct? It looks like there would be some exposure to debris through the Panamericana grille as it is more open and not as protective vs the Pre-FL 2 thronged mesh grille. But I guess at that height there is less concern for damaging debris flying through the Panamericana grille?

No additional parts. There isn’t as much room as you think. This is coming from someone made the swap on my PFL ED1 sedan. Just go with it!
