We've waited a loooong time for this. Between this hand-held flashing and JB4, I have a new found excitement with this platform! Can't wait to see what people do stacking the two together.
Now I kinda want to throw on these upgraded turbos I have sitting in a box in the garage!

Yeah, super excited... I can't believe we're finally at this point, seems like it took forever. I just got 2 speeding tickets within 2 weeks of each other, though, so pretty sure my wife would kill me if I splurged on this now HAHA.

OBD tuning also easier to set your car back to stock before dealership visits, if you need that... Although I never condone warranty fraud. You break it, you buy it, IMHO.

JB4 has a bunch of cool features like map switching, boost by gear, and data logging... It depends on what you are looking for in a tune. If you want a set and forget it, if recommend the Eurocharged (I personally prefer ECU dining over piggyback). If you want to tailor the tune yourself and experiment, go with JB4.

has as anyone confirmed there is not a flash counter via OBD? So you are saying you flash back to stock there is no trace of a tune?

If they suspect foul play they'll find evidence in any tune... Piggyback or flash. But for regular visits / service, they won't even bother to check... They generally don't care unless you blow an engine or something expensive... But EC has engine warranty that JB4 doesn't have.

wondering how much the jb4 is going to be. If it’s half the price may be worth it

It just depends on what you want to do with your vehicle -- it's a personal choice and I don't think anybody would blame you for choosing either. There is a lot of info on this forum about both, so spend some time researching both. Feel free to DM if you have any specific questions.

So is the MyGenius considered a piggyback? Or is it just remote ECU tuning?
Is there anything you can do by pulling the ECU and hard & soft tuning it that you can't do with the MyGenius (aside from run a large labor bill lol)?
Also, can you not tune boost-by-gear via the ECU (whether in hand or remotely via MyGenius)? Not sure how this would be a parameter the ECU can't control?
And does this unit show any realtime data? Ie, can you road/dyno tune with it? Or is it only for loading a tune file onto the ECU (reflash)?

I don't think you can boost by gear with ECU tuning...
I've never used MyGenius, but you may be able to log with it, make changes to a map on a computer, and reflash the car with an updated map... Maybe EC can chime in on that... Definitely possible with other handheld OBD flashing devices.

MyGenius is same as bench flash but with the ability to use the OBD port to program and not having to take out the ECU. OBD tuning does everything that pulling the ECU out does without the labor.
I don't think you can boost by gear with ECU tuning...
I've never used MyGenius, but you may be able to log with it, make changes to a map on a computer, and reflash the car with an updated map... Maybe EC can chime in on that... Definitely possible with other handheld OBD flashing devices.

It seems a bit silly to have to buy both the MyGenius and JB4 just to be able to tune remotely and control boost by gear, respectively (which if you're running bigger turbos is a real consideration).
