Production numbers C63S
Curious if anyone has a sense on exactly how many C63s coupes are produced each year? In the US as well as worldwide as well? Anyone have any idea as I am trying to gauge how rare or commonplace the car is. Thanks all for input in advance.

That's not uncommon at this level. Affluent folks who can afford these kinds of cars also tend to change cars more frequently and/or have multiple cars in their fleet, so the mileage tends to stay low. Or it's folks who bought it, not quite understanding what they are getting and then realizing these cars are a bit too much for the daily stop&go commute to work. Most folks really don't live anywhere where a car like this can be properly enjoyed.

Agree, I don't see that as a negative either. Where would you locate those stats anyway? Regardless, my question was more directed at total production of C63s coupes year over year if anyone has that data or would be able to locate. Just curious about how many are actually out there and true exclusiveness of the vehicle. I am fan no matter what, great car.

While led I know there are several members here in my neighborhood (Dallas area), I’ve only ever seen two other c63s on the road (and one was the dealers that I test drove).
So, pretty exclusive, imo.

If you contact MB directly, they'll most likely provide you with the numbers. We did this back in the day with the original Audi RS5 (2013-2015), which as opposed to the C63 was officially limited to 2500/MY in the USA and many of us were interested in how many were actually sold, some even asked for specific color combination sales numbers and Audi happily provided them. The numbers showed that they sold slightly above the 2500 for the first two years and the third and last year was only a half run so overall they sold about as many as they wanted. I'm guessing the C63 is in that ballpark. I don't have stats for MB, but in case of Audi about 93% of customers buy A models, 6% buy S models and 1% buy RS models. I would think that it's probably similar for MB. 93% buy the regular C-class models, 6% go for the 43 and 1% for the 63/S. These things tend to follow income distribution models fairly closely. The C63/S is the most popular AMG, so maybe the numbers are a bit higher compared to Audi. It seems to be worth for AMG to put a lot of money into the C63/S and make customers happy. In case of the C63 you should probably also separate the sedan, coupe and cab. The cab is most likely the rarest, followed by the coupe and the sedan will take the lion share. For example here in the SF Bay Area with all the tech money, I've yet to see a coupe or a cab on the roads. I've seen a few sedans, but these are definitely rare cars in terms of seeing them on the road. I see many more M3s and M4s, than AMGs and Audi RS models.

i don’t think they’re officially published at the C63s level, but I’m happy to be shown wrong. But, some basic math may provide some insight. I believe there are only about 50 or so engine builders to build all the handcrafted engines. They put together roughly 2 engines per day. Best case each builder works 5 days a week for say 48 weeks (it’s likely fewer weeks given German work practices). Rounding up, that’s 500 engines per year per mechanic. So, total handcrafted AMG engine production for all models is less than 25,000. And I think that number is probably exaggerated. C63s would be a fraction of that (but likely the largest fraction), I’d guess.

All the engines for the c63 are built in Germany. Sedans for the U.S. are assembled in the U.S. Sedans (Non-US), Coupes and Cabs are assembled in Germany.

All I know is my C63S Cabriolet special edition is one of 150 worldwide and of 63 in the States so it's pretty rare and not going to be made again so mine's a keeper.

Last I checked MB would not release current production numbers. It was a manufacturing proprietary issue. Getting this data from past years is more easily attainable. So I was told. Perhaps you all have better contacts.

We do know that MY2023 was the most limited production run at least for the US market. They released 100 Final Editions here, and by my calculations approximately just 50-60 non FE’s in addition to 15-20 cabs.
