2016 C63 S AMG Brakes and Rotors

Hey Everyone,

I live in San Francisco and the dealer price for all 4 rotors and brakes is:
Front Brakes - 312
Rear Brakes - 376
Front Rotor - 1140/each
Rear Rotors - 167/each
Brake sensor rear - 9
Brake sensor front - 13.50
TOTAL = 3613

These front rotors are F......... expensive

So I looked at racingbrake rotors and the total price comes out to be 2400 instead so it's some good savings.

Their front rotors come with their own brakes too.

Has anybody had any experience with aftermarket rotors and brakes ?

What would you suggest vs OEM rotors. I have heard that they are made by brembo and brembo is not as expensive as OEM either.

I would like to know other people's experience with aftermarket. I drive my car pretty hard in the city and on the freeways.

I had to do my rears at 25k and I ended up going with OEM parts as I could not find a decent alternative. No experience with racing brake rotors... may be worth a shot.

I am finding that with Mercedes, there are just fewer options available, resulting in artificially high prices. With BMW and Porsche, I usually have tons and tons of choices available (wheels, pads, rotors).

FCP euro offer the GTS front rotors at a very reasonable price with a lifetime warranty, if you search the forum for post by FCP youll find all the info you need.

I went for the Portfield RS4 pads front and rear (much better pad with a ton less dust over stock) and custom rotors up front.

FCP also has the OEM rear rotors at $153/ea, but with a lifetime warranty. I plan on keeping this car for awhile, and at the rate it seems to eat rear pads/rotors, this was a no-brainer for me. I also went w/ the Porterfield RS-4 pads, and am happy with them (definitely less brake dust). Haven't had to do fronts yet (~23k miles).

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies. I could not find Porterfield RS4 nor could I find the GTS rotors on FCPEURO site for my car. I can only see the OEM brakes(Mrecedes ones). As far as rotors I found the Brembo ones for the front labeled as OE vs OEM but in any case the price is way better vs buying at a dealer. What I also like about FCPEURO is the lifetime warranty even on pads/rotors which is great. I have only about 22K on my car and have changed brakes already twice(every year pretty much) and the tires twice as well but then again I live in San Francisco so a busy city with lots of traffic and I drive it pretty hard(it's hard not to it's too much fun).

Are the Porterfield brakes that much better than OEM ? Maybe if they're that much better I will call FCP and asked them to see offline if they can find me the ones that would fit the OE rotors. What I want to know is it better stopping power or is it the less dust which makes them better ?

Were any of you able to do the rears yourself? I took my car to the shop and the DIY method to release the parking brake did not work (I tried to do it myself without luck). They had to use a shop OBD2 tool to do it.
