2019 C63s fuel consumption
Hi
i know we don’t buy these cars worrying about fuel costs (you might in the UK, fuel is so expensive!); however I thought I’d share the experience of picking up my new car today.
I drove back 120 miles from the dealer avoiding motorway & chose a scenic mountain route & country roads. I was careful due to run in period ie: varying loads, 4000rpm or less. I used comfort & sport plus & averaged 27 mpg over the journey. Also in 9th gear cruising I was getting really good mpg (see pic below). I also gave a bit where I could, so overall I don’t know whether the new transmission is helping.
The cars fab. I love the sound, the sports seats & mostly the B26 Aero kit.

I think the 9 speed transmission is helping.
At 70mph My 2017 coupe was running just around 2000 rpm.
Based on your photos, I would guess that your engine would be spinning at around 1500rpm at 70mph.
On a side note, I now see the difference between the artico leather dashboard,
which shows the graining of the leather versus Nappa leather effect which is smooth.

the mpg soon drops <12 mph when you get lively...(great fun) but just driving sensible locally I’m getting around 22 mpg. Much better than expected.

I’m still running in so sub 4K revs & 85 mph max....I’ve done around 250 miles now & generally urban driving at different revs & loads.

Sorry, urban to me being country village driving; so a little more beneficial to mpg than city. But yes, driving steady locally, is giving (according to my mpg graph !) very acceptable figures. I haven’t owned the 7 speed version, so I can’t offer any comparison. I am intent on run in at various rev/loads & I’m clear of how quick the mpg drops in excitement mode though. I’d would be good if it matches my 991 GT3 overall.

Just as a data point. I typically drive in Individual mode which I've basically set up as Sport mode with exhaust set to "powerful" (as opposed to "Balanced"). It's my daily driver and I'm in a lot of start and stop traffic and a couple of freeway miles. I only average about 25 mph driving to work. I get about 15-16mpg over the 15 miles of my one-way commute. So, not great by any stretch but tolerable.
