C63S Black Series

Hi all,

Did a search and couldn't find anything, so thought I would start a thread around the C63S Black Series. Are there any rumours out there about it? Any mules? There was a few photos around for a while of a proposed C63-R but seem to have been shut down since. There have also been mixed reports about whether they will do one again, some public reports say maybe not but this could also be a ploy. I realise it usually comes towards the back end of a models 7 year life cycle but figured it would be getting close to seeing a testing mule or two in the 5th year of this current cycle if it is going to happen.

I have had a deposit down on one for about 3 years, hoping to be the first to jag one if they make it again but also have a deposit down on the new Corvette C8 mid engine. It will be a tough choice if they arrive together!

Anything out there on this topic?

There's no plan for a C63 Black Series as far as I know. The next Black Series is the AMG GT Black Series expected in 2020. AMG has recently said that it's still coming despite the GT R Pro.

Been confirmed by pretty high up that no C63 black series is planned or coming for the 205 platform and that they are focusing on the gt black series but didn't deny the C63 R so I guess thats something to look forward to for this platform but wouldn't expect it anytime soon until the end of this platform kind of like the 507 ed.

I don't understand how dealers can take a deposit for models that aren't confirmed for production

Just in case it does happen so you don't miss out would be the obvious reason.

I'm sure this would be a specific only type deal and deposit, ie. if it doesn't eventuate it'll be a full refund.

Believe it or not my AMG dealer (Melb. Australia) has also taken 2 deposits of an eventual 205 series BS as they also believe one is coming - we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I know that Porsche dealers in the US often take deposits for future model variants (e.g. GT3/RS) but that's no guarantee that you'll actually get one, never mind if it's a variant that may or may not even come to market.

Still, each to his own. If people don't mind tying up cash on a maybe, then that's fine. I wouldn't do it.

Yeah, Porsche dealers in the US do literally take deposits on cars that don't exist yet and never will.....

a $500 fully refundable deposit is a small price to pay to be first on the list. I have the option of pulling out and claiming my deposit right up to the final hour. If I rock up on delivery day and don't like it in the flesh, I can still pull out and take my deposit back. I've done the same deposit contract with the C8.

$500 is a small price to pay. I assumed people were having to put down a few thousand.

^^^^ This = fully justified

In Australia it's a lot more than that but people still do it, the safeguard is that it's a full refund should that variant never come to market.

For the people who do it, it's all about how much they want it and if so not missing out because it'll only come here in tiny numbers.

The last C Class Black (C204) only had a handfull of examples (AFAIK less than 10) come to this Country and there were lots more people than that who wanted one despite the ridiculous cost (over 250k AUD.)

Fast forward 4 years and they're still holding their value

I am in Australia also. There are 204 black series still on the market second hand for well over $200k, one of the rare AMGs to not depreciate its **** off here!

Must be only AMG dealers here in Oz that believe there's a forthcoming C205 BS ?

This and possibly an IL4 pot PHEV for the future C Class AMG lol - the future of this model will sure be interesting.

I know I am not the only one with a deposit, down both at my dealership and others in my city.
