Catless downpipes

So I just recently got some catless downpipes installed accompanied by a stage 2 tune. Yes it’s LOUD but the smell... well its pretty strong. Also gets a tin sound when flooring it. I can’t tell if it’s because my exhaust has the infamous rattle or it’s just the way it’s supposed to be

Get some Vibrant GESI 7830 Ultra High Flow cats to kill that smell.

any time you get rid of cats you will get a gas smell. and be louder. I have run the Vibrant Ultra High Flow cats they are among the best high flow cats from a performance standpoint, and yes they will get rid of the smell, but since they are so efficient they won't quiet it down very much

How much did you guys pay to have the Vibrant cats placed? I was quoted at least $1500 more for the cats installed...

The cats are about 450to 500 a piece.. not sure what it costs to install on existing pipes but it's a relatively easy job however they will probably have to remove the pipes to properly weld them in. If that's the price including the cats it sounds good. I paid 2300 for mine w Gesi cats from Mike's customs in Russia

Got any pics of your exhaust setup with the Vibrants in there? Trying to picture where you would weld these suckers in. after the downpipe between the catback?

Mine before and after ceramic coating. Just to clarify, mine and the similar ones posted above are both from Mikes Customs in Russia...Shardul is the middle man not the mfg. I went straight to Mike to save a few bucks.

Mikes Custom Downpipes are the best I’ve seen and look even better when ceramic heat coated black.

I had mine in hand to Australia within a week from memory and he’s a really good communicator which is always a bonus when purchasing from overseas.

Did any of you with Mikes Custom DPs install them you self or did you have a shop take care of it?

wondering if the 2 piece really allows for the assumed easy slip in/install after the headache cut and removal of the stock pipes.

Install on a Mates lift, took us about 5 hours but only because Mike made a bad mistake with the location of the secondary O2 sensors. Had to buy new bungs and get welded into the right location to correct his mistakes.
Caused heaps of problem, 1 of the pipes could not even be installed due to his bung location hitting the underside of the car. Had to cut it out and weld a plate over the whole. Fixing Mike's errors cost a lot of down time and money which he had not compensated me for.
I would avoid him and his pipes, lots of other sellers out there.... pictures speak for themselves.
THANKS MIKE !

Yeah this is the first time I've ever heard of problems... Interested since I just got a set of Mike's custom... Seems like such a bad screw up I almost wonder if he just got the left and right dp's mixed up haha... That's crazy...

Mike would not believe me until I provided the photos. He thinks his **** doesn't stink and would do no wrong ever and the baddest part I had to do a Paypal and Credit Charge paypack.
Watch is Guy ! I have many more pictures for his **** Ups ! and NO Support. I told Mike I would go feral and he told me go **** myself...
I paid over $3000 aud.
People are now doing a tune and pipes for $2200 usd.

I think you might have gotten a LHD car set for RHD car man. Couple members have his DP's installed with no issues like this. Schulminator, RDO etc. I have a set of UPD dp's on order so I hope i don't run into this issue.

Yeah... there's no way there could be such a bad defect and not have anybody else have the same problem... LHD vs RHD setup might be the right answer here... that or like I said before, mixing up left and right DP's... =/ Sorry you had to hack up your DP's man, that's frustrating...
