Secondary Cat Delete - Non Performance Exhaust

Hey guys,

I recently took possession of my C63 and absolutely love it! However, the one thing it didn't come with is the performance exhaust. After doing extensive research looking for vids and opinions on how the secondary delete affects the non performance exhaust, I've come up empty. Has anyone had this done on their non performance exhaust? If so, does it basically make it sound like the performance exhaust? I'm 99% sold on the idea but would like to have some input before pulling the trigger.

Thanks in advance.

Adding down pipes is another option for power and sound.

Does anyone know of a company in FL Palm Beach county that will remove the 2nd cat? Ive been multiple places with zero luck. Performance shops, custom exhaust shops, welding shops and none want to attempt it.

Totally agree! Just don't think I want to go that loud on a daily driver.

Lol - I was waiting for someone to call me out on this. So, I was referred to an exhaust shop by a friend who claimed they were the best in the city, and when I called them for a quote they came in way cheaper than other shops. I took a chance and went at 8am on Friday morning only to realize that they didn't know my car had 2 cats, even though I confirmed that over the phone. It was pretty obvious that they have never done this before and I'm not about to become a guinea pig to save a couple of bucks. I still plan on getting this done, but won't have a chance for at least a few weeks. Will keep everyone posted once it's done.

I have catless downpipes and AWE track exhaust, it's basically straight pipe from turbo back. It's insane, and I love it.

I had the AWE Track exhaust on my S5 and loved it; however, it did have a bit of a drone. So much so, that when I was on the phone in my car people always told me to slow down! lol.

I'll start with the cat delete and if that's not enough I'll probably be forced to go with a different exhaust setup.

You did the right thing by not letting them at your car

I have a NON Performance Exhaust 17 C63. Same thing, want a little louder and surprised that there is so little info and people who have done this. Would love to hear your experience, maybe a before and after revvvvv. Good Luck!

So did you do it? How do you like it? I am in the same boat and thinking to do this mod.
Any muffler shop in So Cal you can recommend and cost?

Still haven't done it yet - been crazy busy! But I'm sold on the idea......Everything I've heard has been positive and likely what I am looking for.

As for shops in SoCal, can't help you there - I'm in Toronto so you're on your own. Good luck!

I have a w204 and might grab a w205 tomorrow but this is a big thing for me, it has to be louder or I'm not really interested. Car has sport exhaust, I'm curious about the secondary cat delete too. Is there resonators on this car to take out as well? Would a secondary cat delete void warranty on the car (aside from exhaust components).

No resonators and secondary cat delete is just that - a secondary cat....that said, it will not throw a cel if you have them removed. Go for it!

Did a little research on the forum last night and it looks like ASR module and secondary cat delete might be my best/easiest choice. This car is tooooo quiet coming from a w204 with headers.
