C63 Sedan vs. C63 Coupe
#26
Just an opinion, Definitely the coupe. It look so much sleeker, meaner ... etc. The sedan look kind a funny too me. Looking from the side, the front, middle and rear doesn’t flow well together at all. It does look better on the S class sedan though. I might get kill for saying this .... I would not buy a sedan at any price.
Genuinely surprised you don't think the sedan flows together though.
I personally think it looks great from any angle. Goes to show you how subjective looks are...

What?? The 911 literally looks nothing like the C63. Or any other coupe version of a sedan??
In that picture, the 911 hips bulge out of the car and are like 25% of the rear width. And the rear is a straight downwards slope until the license plate.
I don't see how they remotely resemble each other:

I went with the coupe due to it's wider body, pronounced fender flares/arches and track and streamlined profile. The sedan's rear also looked more visually unappealing to me due it's droopy lights, though the coupe doesn't look all that great from the rear either.

For me the coupe looks much sportier and more aggressive compared to the sedan (flared rear wheel arches, wider body). The sedan just looks too “pedestrian” to me, but maybe that’s the look some people prefer. But like someone said earlier, either way you’re getting a C63 so you can’t go wrong!

I have a 2019 sedan.
I’m a big fan of the sedan, always have been. Personally I don’t like the way the rear looks on the coupe. I also have 2 small kids who fit well in the back and love to ride in my sedan. I drive it to work and find having a functional backseat a major plus. Personally, I think the sedan looks better than the coupe. The performance difference is minimal (really?) and when your talking about 1or 2 tenths of a second....that’s on the driver.
Bottom line, it’s really what you prefer....

I'm not sure where you came up with sedans in the low 12's because there are quite a few in the high 11's .....
I prefer the Sedan , the coupe look like a supersized Honda Accord w/ a V8 ....lol . I actually took a picture of a side profile of a honda accord just for these arguments but it's on my phone which is dead .
To each there own I guess ...... I love my sedan and all the room ,it's far from cramped . The only thing the coupe really has over a sedan is it can fit wider rear tires no problem and it has a final drive ratio slightly higher then the sedan therefore does accelerate very slightly faster. I can easily fit my road bike inside plus a load of extras and if I did want to take friends along or family its not a issue with room
As for looks.... you judge ...... Mine turns lots of heads

Yep ....C300 coupe = real AMG
Original C63's were 4 dr sedans , it wasn't until later they came out w/ a 2 door so that would make sedans the "Real AMG" , the coupe was a second thought for those that wanted a bit more performance from their Accord lol

Never made a 4 door black series and last time I checked they didn't have a 4 door amg racing. the gts 4 door, s class sedan and e63s are all amazing 4 doors though.. same with the c63s sedan.. I just love coupes and the s63 is too big for me. I actually have NA 6.2 liter s63 sedan. I just loves coupes more. AMG's head engine builder had a coupe and now he has an e63s and he even misses his c63s coupe and might go back to that when he is done with the e63s. That's how good the coupe is. My dad is a sedan guy for life.. He loves sedans.. My mom always like coupes.. Different strokes for diff folks. By far most reviews say the coupe is the looker and more aggressive of the pack.. Doesn't mean everyone has to like it more or agree. Not everyone is the same. That's just what every review of the fleet has said to my knowledge. Those are auto bloggers and journalists looking over the 4 types of c63s you can get in diff markets during press launch. Not people that own one or the other or have one on order. I think all 4 cars look great though, the sedan and wagon are more practical if you need those 2 extra doors and I wish we could get the wagon here in the US. I like the unique body panels the coupe has that makes its stance much more aggressive whereas the sedan has panels directly from the c300 sedan and the aero on the coupe takes it to another level. the c63s coupe is not only wider than the c300 and c43 coupes but it is longer too hence the need for custom panels.

It feels very different to either the C63 saloon or estate, sharper, neater, and generally more focussed. Weirdly, it also feels like the suspension is more expensive, and geared more towards ‘sporty’ driving - exactly as it should be for a Coupe - this isn’t just a different body style, it’s a different car.

To each their own, but the answer isn't just a 4-door vs 2-door thing, or which shape one likes better.

Lol you mad bro? Sick C300 sedan. No wide rear hips = no care.

I don't claim to be an AMG history buff, but as far as I know the C63 Coupe goes all the way back to the 1992 "The Hammer" AMG Widebody Coupe and the C63 sedan goes back to the 1995 C36 AMG, so the coupe came first. Black Series was also a coupe as mentioned above. Why the rivalry? There are some hard facts about the coupe vs sedan and it's up to each one to decide what appeals to them more. The C63 coupe is not just a C63 sedan with two fewer doors. It's a different car dynamically. Much of this is due to the unique rear axle of the coupe. IMHO, it boils down to this. If you are looking for extra practicality and more of a family car, then get the sedan. If you are looking for better driving dynamics, then get the coupe. Top Gear put it best when they reviewed the Edition 1 coupe:

Lol yeah he's just mad he bought a sedan then the coupes came out looking 10x better.
Historically, you are correct AMG started on the hammer coupes for MB. And regardless two doors or 4 doors has nothing to do with the lineage of AMG cars, I was trying to say AMG cars should have wider rear and flared fenders all around compared to the models they are based on, not just the front like his C300 LOL.

The coupe and the sedan don't really feel all that different at the limit. Back to back, you'll notice a difference, but they do feel very similar. Most noticeable difference was rear stability under heavy braking when weight is shifted forward. But it wasn't all that big of a difference.

I'm talking from real-world experience driving both on track on the same day. The coupe is more neutrally balanced and has sharper turn-in. Of course they feel similar. That doesn't mean they're the same. They didn't just pop a wider set of wheels on the rear and weld the back doors shut.
