I’d been looking for an x-demo or similar for a while as I wanted a facelift but was hoping to save a little on the new price. But surprisingly the price I was quoted on Drivethedeal.com was lower than many used car prices.
In the end I called my local dealer to ask if they could match the price I’d been quoted and they replied that there was a brand new car in the UK exactly matching my spec (plus one small addition). And they matched the price.
So I bought it. The spec is:
C63S cabriolet.
Selenite grey
Red roof
Red and black interior
Premium plus
The black forged wheels
Night pack
Black insert thingy on the dashboard (additional to my spec hence I’m a bit vague on this £200 option).
I look forward to posting some pictures next week.
Should i I look at paint protection? What do most people do? I considered a satin conversion with PPF but £4,500 plus tax might be a little too much for me.
Mark.

My current car has an extended front end wrap (front bumper, wings, bonnet, extended A pillar), sideskirts and part of the rear bumper. I'm currently waiting for my C63s to get into the UK and it will then be shipped there for a full PPF wrap.

As an added bonus, they PPF'd the night package black trim, the side skirts, in between the splitter fins, the black rear cannards etc. Nearly everything is PPFd!!
I went through a detailer i use minutia detailing, and they went above and beyond on my car. Then the detailer Mike at Minutia finished off the wheel, interior, brakes and ceramic coating on the ppf.
Thoroughly recommend both those companies, but a bit out the way for you. Would only trust the above two with my car though.
Having seen a lot of these companies that these famous youtubers use, i would steer well clear of them!
PPF is not cheap though. With my M3 I got a local reliable guy to respray the bumper and bonnet a couple of times during the time that I owned it to get rid of the stone chips. Does anyone else take that approach? Does PPF really stop every stone chip?

I would never trust topaz unless you're famous and have a lot of media attention. Even watching them do some of the youtubers cars, they are an operation, the cars are in and out rapidly, deffo not for me and have it on good authority their methods are not the greatest. You want someone who has a passion for what they do rather than just the bottom line.
PPF will not stop all chips but most! I had a long debate.
As mentioned, if you can get to croydon/London area. Call Mike at minutia detailing. He prioritises new cars over other jobs and if you leave the car with him, he will work his magic, and as its a passion for him, he never stops!

I came across a place much nearer that does PPF called Auto FX in the Newport Pagnell area; less than half an hour from work. Anyone know of them? I found a couple of satisfied customers on pistonheads; not seen any bad reviews and sounds like it is a small operation. I have asked for a quote.
Off to Wales and Cornwall in the new car in July. Side question; when's the first service that I need to consider? I think I read that there is a diff oil change at 2000 miles.
