I had the same issue with my last car, an E550 coupe. Accelerate hard and the cel would come on and the car would run rough until I pulled over, turned off the engine and restarted. It was the coil packs but my car was out of warranty so I had to pay out of pocket. The E550 had the 4.7l biturbo V8 engine, I know, different engine than our cars but the problem is identical. Once they replaced the two coil packs that were causing the problem the car worked as it should but I decided to trade it in on the CPO C63 I have now. I drive my car quite a bit so having a warranty is added peace of mind.

Btw, I had a 2020 GLC 300 (****ty still) loaner for a while with updated MBUX which I loved the system. I don't like our infotainment system anymore lol
I like the GLC too. Might have to buy a GLC63 after the warranty is up on my C63 Cabriolet.

First of all, I want to bump this thread and get the OP back involved. Second, I am sorry for your pain. My wife has 850 miles on her 2020 C63S coupe. I can't imagine shorty after she gets her 1,000 miles and gets to kick it and she gets a CEL...... I cannot imagine my marriage could go through this for months on end. This is not funny by any stretch.

b3ns c63 amg, where are you on this? I think of all those months wasted sitting in the shop with other people using your! car for lunch breaks and intentionally driving your! car aggressively trying to get a fault code. And racking up the mileage.

BTW, have you been making lease payments during this time? I might suggest: You call the dealership, ask for the GM. Regretfully, you are returning their car to them. Tell him: "You have the car. You have the keys. It's yours. And walk away. Give them one week to respond with an offer of a buyout or trade. Call an attorney and inform him/her what you've done.

Hi @///Bruce Thanks for the comment! I'm not 100% sure about the procedure MBUSA or any other car makers take when it comes to an unresolved case but for some reason MBUSA is taking their sweet time on my case. I've already started my lemon process long time ago and having my lawyers involved. Technically, I'm still liable for the car when its under my possession; meaning that I have to still make my monthly payments and insurance until my lease contract is either a) over; or b) terminated. And having to see my car driven in random times such as after business hours (even at midnight) or random locations such as restaurants and shopping centers while I'm still making the payments really annoys me.

I really have nothing against the brand and in fact, I may actually custom built an identical car or move to a GT line once my current car is situated.

Oh btw, not sure if I ever mentioned the car was physically damaged (by the dealer) when I last picked it up. This is including my own wheels, Side skirt, front bumper apron, and front bumper

I'm currently stuck with another basic E class loaner

I know. Thanks man! At this point, I've given up on cars/life/motivation jk maybe that's too much to say lol

Or maybe I should look into a different brand that treats you better in these situations...

Jeez this sucks. I can only imagine your frustration. Paying for someone else to joyride and use the vehicle must be infuriating. You should put a stop to that. Extremely unprofessional.

Hey how reputable is your legal counsel? I thought CA has some of the strongest lemon laws in the nation. MBUSA seemed decent with buybacks of misfiring engines in the 2018 E63s.
