Radiator Fan after turning off the engine

Just bought my C63S few weeks ago and have put few hundred miles on it so far. No issues in general while driving the car.

However, I happen to notice the following two things almost every time I pull my car into my garage and turn off the engine after normal driving (highway speeds 50 - 80 mph mostly in Comfort mode and with the Performance exhaust turned on). Occasionally put the car in Sport+ for few minutes during driving and changed it back to Comfort mode since I'm still within the break-in period.

- The radiator fan comes on (can easily hear it) and keeps running for roughly 5-7 mins, after which the fan speed dials down a bit. The fan continues running for another 2-3 more minutes with the noise level lowered and finally turns off completely.
- Smell/Fumes of the Oil/Petroleum burning that stays for few minutes even after the engine has been turned off. Does this come because of the exhaust flaps being open? I also turn off the engine once it's fully inside the garage and parked, and don't keep it running. We used to park my previous car (Camry 4-cyliner) every day but the fumes were not noticeable mostly.

The outside weather is in the 75 - 95 degree Fahrenheit range when this happens.

Are both of these normal?

The fan normal. The smell should go away after 5-600 miles.

Thanks everyone. The fan is not generally loud and noticeable in big parking lots or outside, but easily noticeable within the home garage Glad it's just normal.

Also found the below post from 2016 which talks about similar issues with the smell. Seems like some compound/coating on the engine/exhaust to prevent oxidization, and like cyberoth mentioned, it goes alway after some time. Glad I'm not the only one and didn't want to make a trip to the dealer to be told the same

I don't read anything I would be concerned about here. The fan is normal and the smell I would only worry about if it is significant and or gets worse.

It's normal. Every time the engine temps rise above 200F and Trans temp above 175F before parking and shutting off I notice the radiator fans going off to cool down the fluids.

fan not staying on

hello everyone,
i'm new to this forum, when i purchased my 2019 GLS 63 the fan use to stay on after shuting it off. my battery died due to my grandson leaving a light on in the back. since then it no longer stays on. i have brought it o MB service as it's still under warranty but im told nothing is wrong with the fan unit. i watch the temp gages to make sure it doesn't overheat but im worried someone is missing something. its been to 2 different dealers both are telling don't worry nothing is wrong. someone with any knowledge about this please reply
