Few Concerns

Hello All,

Any insight/related experience is appreciated

A few months ago I picked up a new 18' C63s Coupe. I'm at 1300 Miles so she's officially broken in! However, for the second time in a week, the paddle shifters randomly stop working. I'll turn off the vehicle for a little while and they're working like normal again. Any idea what it might be? It doesn't matter what driving mode I'm in. Even what I press the manual button on the center console area, it only shows up on my screen that it's changing to manual and not on the instrument cluster but still does not work.

Also, I've noticed at highway speeds some rattling from the instrument cluster plastic? Does anyone else have this issue? Fixes?

Finally, I've noticed a lot of rust around the rotor/wheel hub area. I know that it is most likely due to brake dust but it makes the vehicle look very unappealing especially with such low mileage. I know some people have coated the rotors/wheel hub area with high temp engine paint/galvanizing compound, does anyone have any recommendations? Is this something that would be considered a defect and would be covered under warranty?

Sorry for the long post! Thanks!

rust spots on rotors are normal... and disappear a few seconds after braking the next time. i.e., wash car/rains, water sits on rotors overnight, in the AM, rust spots. yay!

Thanks for the response! Let me clarify, there's rust where the pads don't touch the face of the rotors.

I would go in for the paddles. Take a video when it stops working and show them. the noise in dash is hard to say as this car does make a lot of unwanted noises from the trim. The rust is pretty common. Even in So Cal where there is little weather issues I got these on my 205 rotors. They are made of steel and will rust.

I have had 5 Benz cars and they have all had the rust spots on the hubs. It is nothing to worry about and you will find you are the only one to notice them. Your car looks great.
