LOL, i've been away too long, but got notified of a reply...

I ended up with the DR-900S-1CH for the front because I have a convertible. In short, I didn't drive my car enough to charge the Blackvue battery so it kept discharging and did not provide enough recording time when parked. After a few weeks, it died completely and it was a pain having to go and get it uninstalled and shipped back. In the end, I left it off and am glad to not use it as it was more of a hassle then it was worth. I don't have parked recording but having it for driving is at least better than nothing. I also put a 500GB drive on there so I have tons of storage.

Also, sorry, but why does your car get hit so often lol?

Guys, I have a question for the people who have installed the camera on the facelift, I could not find any fuse on the driver's side pillar fuse box panel that will not supply power when the car is off. The fuses here are all live all the time as much as I can tell so far. So is my only option to run a wiring to kit all the way to the trunk?

my installer just daisy chained the camera to the cigarette lighter for the front camera. it's the right fuse since it turns off when the car is off, and it was more simple to do that way--very non-intrusive. that said, i'm not sure how the rear would work, but if you do a google search on the blackvue installs on MBZ there are a lot of videos out there...

Where is the fuse for the cigarette lighter? Also do you have the facelift model? Apparently the fuse locations are not same anymore.

I meant that he installed the wire piggybacking into the cigarette lighter wiring. I have a 2019 W205 C63AS. The cigarette lighter is in the passenger leg space in my car (not sure if anything is different in coupe/sedan). It was a quick and simple job without having to open up any panels and use any new fuses.

@FLC63s !! What's up my man. Glad to see you are still active on these boards. I've just gotten so busy and with more than half of the threads being posts about upgrades/mods/etc (which I'm not interested in right now LOL), i've forgotten to check back here. good thing for the notifications that "someone replied to your post" or I still would have not been back lol. Hope all is well in FL!

@mrguitar yea its been a crazy year.. but I am good.. (busy) :-).

This site has changed and went downhill in my opinion, its primarly all just post from sponsors selling there stuff over and over again, and people asking questions they just are too lazy to do a deeper search on.
(not saying everyone, just IMO again)

So I def am not as active nor as motivated like back in your day of need to even respond to some people anymore. :-(

Stay SAFE and healthy my Friend and keep enjoying the ride..

Right on! If I was modifying my car (maybe after warranty) I'll be all over these boards. Otherwise, not much to discuss for me these days lol. Good to see long-timers like you still active here! Stay safe!

Thanks Very helpful. I bought the 750LTE version that has the SIM card built into the front camera and it seems to work well.

Make sure you have your motion detection area setup, otherwise it will prob just keep recording non stop.

Do you have the LTE antenna as well ?

With respect to item #3 , this all depends on what type of monitoring you are looking for.. I have mine set to record on motion, or impact (in parking mode) and it records 2 min at a time. (on 4K)

When a impact is detected, it buffers 30 seconds prior and records and "locks" that file so it cannot be overwritten.

I think I get hit often because my car is silver colored and people just don’t see it. The birds definitely see it because I’m hit with bird crap all over the hood and roof.

How did you get the 500GB hard drive connected to the camera?

i bought the sandisk card through amazon completely separately and put it in there. works great. one caveat i forgot to mention is that the card has a little bump on it for the additional storage so you have to squeeze it in there...haven't had any issues at all though...

I thought that 256GB was the max. I didn’t know that a 500GB would work in the Blackvues. So how many hours of video before it starts rewriting?

i have the 900 and have had different exp with diff sized cards.

i think OP is running single camera if i remember correctly and that is a bit forgiving.

the main is with large sized cards is the write speeds and the heat.
