I think the sweet spot is nearly new with plenty of warranty left. I bought my 5 month old 63s with 3500 miles for £55k, so someone else took the 20k hit already. If I lose £20k in two years with full warranty, that's not so bad and can still sell it with 6 months warranty left.

I am planning on getting extended warranty, and reevaluate how the car performed over the last 1-2 years. If it seems like thins are breaking over the final 1-2 years, then I will jump ship. It seems like Porsche will be a reasonable move at that time.

I tend to dote on and take care of my cars, keeping them for about 5-7 years until there is something I really like to replace it.

I plan to keep mine after the warranty has run out. Probably will keep for a year or two afterwards and check what the costs are at the time, but will probably will just let it run.

One big issue though, and this will dictate how long I keep the car - I have the carbon ceramic brakes, which are excellent but I am not replacing those things! Just checked, ECS have them at $4,000.... EACH! Supposed to last the life of the car, but they say that about automatic gearbox fluid and so many other things, and we all know about that!

Put them in a box and fit steel rotas. Doubt you'll notice the difference and your calipers will still say carbon for bling points.

They say to change transmission fluid around 110k km. That is so stretched that it hurts my head. What do you think it should be?

At least that's just the fronts. My last Porsche had carbon brakes. Replacement cost is $11,500 for the front and $10,500 for the rear! Plus labor.

I noticed a big difference between PCCBs and steel rotors on my Porsches. Much prefer the PCCB, but wouldn't want to pay the replacement cost, especially on an old car.
