2019 GLC AMG 63 Bad trans & Adaptive cruise
KILINH, Please explain what you find so humorous about a faulty adaptive cruise not stopping for a car stopped at a red light.
Please go out and try other brands of autos. I believe that you will not find a worse Adaptive cruise in any car and at least 25 that are better than Mercedes. But you if you tell us there is one you
should list the year, make, and model.
Just so you guys can go un-tie your undies, the GLC AMG 63 is the fastest best handling small SUV and I believe the only one still with a V-8 which is why I bought it.
My point is that just because a car has a big 3 pointed start in the grille, it can still have a lot things wrong, backwards or just straight out dumb. Face it as a daily driver
this car leaves a lot to be desired.
I have a C63S with adaptive cruise and use it pretty frequently. Ok, so its not great on curving roads and can relatively frequently not get the lines in the road (live in the foothills of the Sierra's so they do curve pretty sharply). But out on wider and straighter roads it works well. I find that the distance control is smooth and predictable and it does bring the car to a complete stop in heavy stop / start traffic. Used it the other day and it was great after a 2 hour drive.
My wife just handed back her 2016 Malibu premier which also had adaptive cruise. Worked OK, but no way near as good. It was abrupt, sharp to brake and while it did start moving again on its own, it always left massive gaps in traffic. For anyone on busy CA roads, thats never going to work! To be honest, she never used it and I only used it occasionally on less busy roads. Oh, and it was terrible when coming to pass a car on the freeway. Would drag the speed down badly and even when indicating it would still slow down. At least the Merc system keeps constant speed as you change lanes.
I understand the latest Nissan ProPlusAssist system is way better, but the one from a year or two ago on an Altima sucked. Terrible and way worse than the Chevrolet system. Used it once on a hire car, never again.
As for the Merc system, it can be adjusted for what you want. Not sure about the GLC, but I have a couple of buttons to control the behavior and I can also go into the settings for what I what it to do. Have you got everything turned on? I think you can disable aspects of it to fit your requirements. And if its really not working, its under warranty so take it back!

Forgot, the brake assist thing is called PRE-SAFE Brake. Its in the user guide, page 74:

Mine has Distronic Plus, Pre-safe brake and the steering thing... why oh why do Mercedes call things strange names. And please, someone correct me if I have the incorrect names.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
works as good as the old one. I expected that a 2019 $86,000 Mercedes to have an adaptive cruise that works as good as a 2014 $ 26,000 Jeep Cherokee. Thanks again for the help.
Oh one other thing, you have very poor sentence structure.
