Not sure what Aero package parts are supposed to be sitting at the dealer for @Arjy , but no the Aero package is not a dealer installed option. It's installed at the factory along with the carbon fiber exterior options. It all comes installed from the factory. I know, because I did European Delivery and my car has the Aero package as well as both carbon fiber exterior packages. There are some port installed options such as the rear-view mirror gets swapped out for the one with the integrated garage door opener and the wheel locks don't get installed at the factory. The VPC installs this stuff. There's nothing that the dealer installs other than aftermarket crap they sell you on.

The aero pack was omitted from my build by the factory so I had the dealer order the parts separately.

Got an update this morning that my car has been built. Waiting for Mercedes to release the 2020 Sedans, then it's only supposed to take 2 weeks to ship to California! Sadly, I changed my mind and really want a coupe now. How bad would the trade in be on a 3 month old 2020 with less than 1k miles? Any ideas. Thinking of ordering a coupe and taking the sedan until then.

Honestly, that's not worth it, IMHO. If you really want a coupe, best to order it right now. The 2020s may not even get released until December. Hopefully more like October/November time frame. Keep in mind, though, as opposed to the sedans, the coupes are built in Germany, so shipping alone takes about 8 weeks to California with customs and VPC from the time it's on a ship and heading here. It seems to take another 3 weeks or so from the time it's built until it's actually on a ship. Depending on allocation and when you'd get your production slot you could be looking at 4-5 months, more if there are delays like there were for the 2019s. You'll take quite a hit trading in the sedan after only a few months and you'll have to be breaking it in for the first 1000 miles, so you might not even get to fully enjoy it. Perhaps worth talking to your sales guy and see what they would give you for the sedan if you were to do this.

I didn't realize it could be that far out! I have an odd situation though. A dealership in Ohio I used to work at ordered the car for me, 8% off MSRP, and was having it delivered to a dealer out here for pickup. Not sure if it's too late for them to change the dealer it's going to. It likely is. Which means I have to burn them by backing out, then pay more for another one. Dealerships in my area laugh me out of the showroom if I mention a discount on an order. One regularly slaps a 10-15k markup on C63's. Considering the fact that I'm young and plan on buying a ton of AMG's over the next 20-30 years (getting my fiancee into them as well), I hate to burn that bridge. One of the dealerships near me has the perfect 2020 Coupe coming in though, already built. But it's 20k more than the sedan I ordered since there's no discount and it has more options than I wanted.

Sweet! I’m in Arlington, VA. I got an update about a week ago that mine finished production, would “soon be on its way from Germany”, and that we’re right on track for delivery by the second week of October. Ours may be on the same ship. Anticipation is killing me!

I really hope mid October can happen since we’re all waiting for the official Corporate release for retail sale.

I messaged MBUSA on facebook messenger just for ****s and giggles about when the 2020 c63s will be released and they replied to me with early next month.

Not sure how accurate that is, but October isnt looking likely. Car has been ordered since June....this waiting game is killing me. Have seen a few 2019’s but haven’t pulled the trigger.. i will just be pissed if i get a ‘19 and the ‘20’s release two weeks later. Lol

But you would hopefully get a better deal on a '19. I can wait as long as it before Jan 1. Want the fleet dicount to kick in for '20s.

This is so frustrating! My car was ordered in back in May and my dealer told me that I would likely have the keys in my hand by end of August. NOPE! It's just been sitting at the Brunswick port since August. Definitely not a great customer experience with Mercedes so far. UGH!

I would say not a good experience with this particular dealership. They should have never told you end of August. They knew historically all along that it's gonna be towards the end of Q4 until the 2020s get released. Many here have said so as well on several threads for a while. Some dealerships were actually upfront and told folks that it's gonna be November/December before they see their cars.

Yeah, you are probably right about that. I even spoke with my dealer as recently as a week ago and they told me that they still do not know when it will be released as corporate has given them no information - so they are either lying or ignorant. This forum was the only place that has provided some realistic information so thank you all.

Same here. I was told I'd have the car in September. Today I was told December at the earliest. I also saw a lease deal on a 2019 BMW M5 for $900 a month today. Maybe it's a sign...

This reminds me of the story from a Canadian YouTuber. He ordered a '18 C63S Coupe (I think it was an '18). Took delivery of the car and shortly after he got a call from MB Canada requesting that he'd return the car. Apparently, it was accidentally delivered to him before the '18s were officially released and therefore he was legally not allowed to drive the car on Canadian roads. Manufacturers would release these cars much earlier if they could, but they have to go through the process before the car can be sold legally. They are to some extent at the mercy of the authorities to work through the backlog of all the 2020 models from all car manufacturers.

Haha no disrespect to anyone here, but just take a look at my post. Waiting since this past May is a cakewalk...Try waiting almost 10 months from time of order.

As I've said in other posts, the AMG Regional Manager told me personally back in August that the 2020's don't get released until at least Q4 (which is technically now), but as others have said, the actual timeframe may be a lot later, in the December timeframe.

Not great news, but I would seriously just lose all expectation of when your car will arrive. It will save a lot of headache...then when it finally does arrive, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Do NOT listen to your salespeople. I think they don't know what goes on in the AMG world.

Well guys... I'm out. We did some shopping yesterday.

The M5 doesn't feel as special as the C63 to be honest. It's a nicer car in a lot of ways and faster, but kinda boring. I'm still happy with it though and any time I get on it, I forget about the C63 lol.

congrats on the m5! i have been really eyeing an m5 competition especially since the 19’s right now at my local dealer are leasing the same if not better than the c63’s... if november timeframe is accurate which multiple sources have been saying, i will wait. traded my 2013 c63 in a few years ago for an f10 m5 and regretted it every single day. while they are definitley faster and much more car, they are really quite boring like you mentioned.. (in my opinion of course. definitley not knocking any m5 owners) ...nonetheless your m5 is gorgeous and i hope you enjoy it in good health. congrats again!

Thanks, the lease was actually much less than I was quoted for a C63s! I know a broker selling a 19 M5 Comp, 114k msrp for $1,085 a month, 5k due at signing. 36/10k. Not sure what C63's usually lease for, I was quoted $1,675 if I remember right.
