Spare question

I own a 2018 C63S Coupe with the 19/20 inch AMG forged cross-spoke black wheels.

I am considering aftermarket wheels and wondering if my front wheel will fit on the rear...you know just as a spare to get me home if I had a rear flat?

Thanks.

I have my 19 inch front factory wheel in the trunk for a spare. I hope it fits the rear should I ever need it.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit the rear since the rear brake calipers is much smaller then the front. It good that you’re prepared but having it in the trunk without trying on to see if it fit defeat the purpose of preparedness 😄

I’ve considered the same thing after being stuck on the side of the road three times with flats. But, what are you carrying for a jack and lug wrench? Also, where are you going to put the flat tire and wheel if it’s a rear tire? It won’t fit in the trunk and I sure don’t want to put it in the passenger seat. What if I have a passenger ? I love this car but I’m afraid to take a trip in it for this reason and my next car absolutely must have a spare I can change myself.

This might be a silly question but if one was to get a flat tyre, are these run flats that you can still drive to a safe location or are you just stuck wherever you are?

what is one supposed to do?

My AMG does not have run flats...but to answer your question if the puncture on a run flat is in the part of the tire that meets the road you have a chance of driving around 50 miles before it is no go. But on a run flat if the puncture is on the side wall you are SOL. You will need a tow or spare at that point.

Hope this helps.

I have a small travel bag that my scissor jack, torque wrench, gloves, bag for the spare, flashlight, etc. It fits nicely right behind my passenger seat with it all the way back.

Also my scissor jack is BADASS...it has a ratchet system with an attachment...but is still small and light.

As far as your other question I assumed the rear wheel would fit in the trunk? But I do keep a spare heavy duty garbage bag (to store it) so if not I could put it in the passenger seat or even back seats to get it home without destroying my AMG.

Or you could use one of those wheel wraps...I have one if I use my stock wheel as a spare and it neatly goes around the wheel and has a handle so if you had to sling it into the back seat. Tire Rack sells these for people to store their winter wheels and tires.

Good point...I need to test it to make sure. Because if not maybe I will keep my stock wheels and build a spare that can fit both front and back

You might want to check if your car has a jack and wheel brace so you can change it.
