Add 1L engine oil on 2019 C63S

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has had this warning on facelift or prefacelift W205 C63?

It popped up at 15,000km. Dealer said it's normal. I know it is common with the 6.3L in the 204s, but haven't seen much with regards to the w205.

Thanks.

Might be normal during the break-in period. It normal during the 10k oil change interval.

I have that too at 1,800 miles (3K). The weird thing is I checked the dipstick, and it doesn't seem low with the oil level showing "good." I bought some 0W40 Mobil 1, but am apprehensive about putting a quart in.

I haven't experienced it myself but I wouldn't worry too much. These things are turbo charged so it will burn oil to some extent.

There appear to be some faulty oil level sensors in some of the 2019s. I got this regularly, starting just a day after I took delivery of the car. I was in Europe at the time doing European Delivery. It kept alerting me mostly when I didn't drive the car hard and then eventually at one point I even got the red warning of doom, car low on oil immediately pull over. Kept checking the oil level with the dip stick and even stopped by a dealership on two occasions while in Germany and Switzerland. They both confirmed that the oil level was fine, and the second dealership looked in the system and said it appears to be a known issue and AMG is working on it. Once I dropped off the car, I brought the issue to the VPC's attention and they most likely replaced the sensor during the 3 weeks the car was at the VPC. However, I got the warning ones more or twice, I don't quite remember shortly after I took possession of the car again, but since then it hasn't happened anymore. I'm almost due for my 10k miles service and I'll bring it up with the service department. If you get this warning check the oil level with the dip stick, and if it's fine, then your car appears to be suffering from the same spurious intermittent low oil warnings and you can ignore them, but bring it up as an issue during your next service visit.

Not just the 2019s. I've had it happen on my '16 as well, as have quite a few others with other model yeras. Some have had the sensor replaced under warranty.

It's "normal" for this car...but has nothing to do with oil consumption. The level was fine. It's a bad sensor.

Had this a few times on my 2019. Sensor replaced under warranty. Issue continues. Pretty poor really.

I am at 2000 miles on my 2020 and just got it yesterday morning driving 120 miles out of town. Checked oil and level was fine. So it sounds like I need to have dealership log and just keep going.

I've had it come up 4 or 5 times in the year I've had the car, it's never been low once (2017). This car doesn't burn any oil unlike my 6.2. Seems like lots of people have faulty sensors and/or false warnings. Make sure you guys are checking the dipstick before just going ahead and adding a litre.

Had this error popped up once. Oil was fine. Surprisingly this car doesn’t burn any oil. Bmw v8’s burn a lot of oil and coolant apparently.

Five thousand miles now and no lights. Just changed oil/filter yesterday. Damn, I thought the '13 was a PITA.

Same with my E63S. Never been low once in 15,000 miles. This is my eighth AMG, and every one of them burned a quart in between 1,500 to 3,000 miles. This is the first that hasn't burned any (knock on wood), even though it's turbocharged. I don't know how they've done it.
