2019 C63 secondary cat delete

Hey all,

I’m looking into getting my secondary cats deleted on my 2019 C63S sedan. Does anyone have any pictures of the location of the secondary cats?

From what I gathered, they should be at the end of the downpipes. A mechanic that I went to was expecting it on the mid pipe so he said the ones at the end of the downpipes were the primary cats but I think he was mistaking it for the W204 setup.

Thanks

There's been a few threads on this subject, mainly ones discussing exhaust, asr modules etc

The 19's don't have the secondary cats, therefore there is nothing to remove. It sucks for us 19 owners, we can't have the louder exhaust note. The only thing we can do is get downpipes.

Thanks for the replies. That’s what’s confusing though. On the other threads, some members are saying that they’ve removed /gutted the secondary cat for their 2019 C63S while some say there isn’t any in the first place. When the mechanic and I raised my car, we saw what looked like cats at the end of the downpipes but he claims it’s the primary cats.

I am making a deduction here please dont take my word as fact just my thoughts on this.

Based on these two pictures, I think both the primary and secondary cats are located on the downpipes. The first picture was posted by another user and shows the full stock catback portion of the exhuast. No secondary cats or resonator to be seen

Now, from westec's website. Their catless downpipes next to stock downpipes. Notice there appear to be cats at both ends, the primaries located almost right behind the turbos and the secondaries are probably what your mechanic is seeing closer to the bottom of the downpipes.

This is a much different design from the w204 which had primaries where you'd expect them followed by a set of secondaries where our h valve sits and then a big resonator in the middle. deleting either of those or both could get you different types of sound all louder than stock. I figure this is an NA vs FI design choice. Either way, if those secondaries on the downpipes don't have a sensor after them it is probably completely safe to delete them.

The primaries are behind the turbos near the firewall, eg the downpipes. The secondaries are the ones you see under the car.

When you raise the car, the last bit of exhaust you see on the bottom of the car before it goes up are cats. I don't know if they're primaries, secondaries, or both, but they can be cut out with no CEL.

I guess the best way instead of speculating would be to post some pictures. @Encore818 I think already cut his secondary cats, so the secondary cats are there for sure. I personally am very curious to see where that damned GPF is located. Or does Mercedes not have one for the North American versions at all. If the latter is the case, then you guys just need to contact Renntech to get the old sound back.

Theres still a lot of ambiguity but it sounds like it must be either something that is not equipped on north american cars or it is built into the primary cats, since it sounds like they need a pre and post o2 sensor. That is what I have gathered from other's posts on here.
