Had a rear flat and could not repair (got into the sidewall) so decided to make the leap. Went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 295/30/20.
First of all I like the width of the 295 and I feel like it fits so good on the 10.5 wheel. Still looks low profile but has some added protection for the wheel.
I also like the way it looks on the car!!! Fills the gap in the rear some but still looks low profile. And the extra width looks mean!!! Attachment 423153Attachment 423154
nice im looking forward to my stock tires running out so i can go with a wider setup too and fill all the gaps. im leaning towards 275 in the front and 305 in the rear
I'm looking at going 295 PS4S as well when my stockies are done. That stretch is completely gone, hopefully I don't scrub as I'm lowered and running a 12mm spacer as well

Sounds good...Are you planning to run these sizes on the stock wheels?

I cannot tell if you would scrub with a 12mm spacer and lowered but I can tell you that the 295 tire ate into my wheel gap pretty good. There is still room but I can tell the difference when cleaning my wheel wells.
However, I would be interested if it does work as I am thinking about going to a 12mm spacer and possibly lowering it on H&R springs...Thanks.
Agree...visually much meaner looking especially from the rear...but I also like that my sidewalls are somewhat similar from the side view of the car...looks better than the stretched 285 tire did.

Bro this combo actually looked really good on your car. The 295 rears and 255 fronts look proportionate. Are you still running this setup? Did the 295 4S rears stop wheelspin when flooring it in 2nd gear?

What's up man...well now that I have some wheel time with the 295 rear tire I can probably speak about the performance. However, since I installed them I also did some performance mods and things have changed. So they definitely grip better than the 285 did stock but now with the additional power it can sometimes have traction problems even once shifting to 3rd...but I actually like it this way. I always drive with traction control completely off...you see I used to own a Challenger Hellcat and learned how to peddle through wheel spin. This all works fine for the street and 1/2 mile racing but I do think if I decided to 1/4 mile I would got to maybe a 305 and something stickier like NT05 or Toyo 888r??? Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply brother. Yeah the traction issue is really sh*t but when the tyres are warm and it hooks up in 2nd, the pull is really good. Just wish I could get that feeling all the time (I'm not even tuned).
So you still run 255 up fronts and 295 in the rear aye?

Agree! When it does hook up in 2nd...DAMN!!!!
Yes still running 255/295 setup. Didn't really seem to affect my handling at all but then I have not tracked my car.
OK W205-S. I'm trusting your judgement. I just revised my order for new tires on my C63s Coupe to PS4S 255 and 295s from PSS 255 and 285s (285 PS4S are temporarily out of stock for at least a month.) I'm more concerned with handling than the best straight line acceleration.

I think you will be happy with this setup...it will fill your rear wheel gap some and give you better traction.
Plus on a side note the 295 just looks so much wider than the stretched 285 from the rear view...I always like walking up to my coupe now from the rear...so aggressive looking!!!
So I needed new tires, and I went with 265s in the front, and actually had the shop bring in both the 295s and 305s. Irrespective of the math (which was 295 is proper ratio to the 265 fronts, and that the 305 is significantly taller than the 295), when mounted on the wheel, side by side, the 295 is a much thinner tire, and it doesn't match with the beefy 265s up front. So I went 265 + 305, and they look PERFECT. Definitely fills the fender gap very very nicely. And I love the look of the beefier tires. I'm also not breaking traction from a stop (coming off the line at a light) accidentally anywhere near as much. Oh, and these tires are MUCH quieter than the PSS that the car came with originally.
So that was the good.
The bad? It's definitely not as nimble, and noticeably so. Makes sense given the heavier and larger tires up front. I also am not sure how much the tire pressures are playing a role. Sticker on the gas cap door says for the 19/20 inch wheel setup, 44 lb front, 39 lb rear (IIRC). Tire shop seems to think that's REALLY high. And I know that high tire pressures can definitely make a car handle very differently. What are you plus-size guys running your tire pressures at? I was thinking of trying 38 front and 36 in the rear.
EDIT: I finally got around to adjusting the tire pressures; brought them down to 34 front and 32 rear yesterday. Drove to work today, and it’s like a totally different car. Very light and nimble! In fact, I think she feels even better than with stock tire sizes - and now I don’t spin the tires accidentally at stoplights! The tire pressures definitely did the trick. And I’m super happy. Thanks!
