Dif question- does it make a big difference?

So rather than buying a drift car for the odd drift days they do in the uk (normally around a go cart track) and a daily, i am thinking of getting a c63 205 to do it all. Now i have spotted a good priced c63 but realise the S has a e-diff rather than a mechanical diff in the standard model. Is the standard mechanical one lsd, or would the e-dif be much better as i read they use it in the amg gt as well?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Not much difference unless you're professionally racing...

I've been locking for a good comparison, but haven't really come across anything. The greatest benefit of electronic control is that its more sensitive and faster to adjust to changing driving situations. As opposed to a purely mechanical diff, it also works off throttle and the vehicle remains more stable when braking from high speed and when starting from rest it is much quicker at regulating the torque going to each wheel to maximize traction. AMG has further improved it for the 2019 FL and now even the non-S has the e-diff. They got rid of the mechanical diff altogether. For the 2019 S they paired it with the 9-stage traction control system from the AMG GT R, which adds a whole other level to the whole thing. If you plan on drifting you might find the 9-stage traction control system to be a real boon, but that's only available in the 2019+ C63S.
