Cylinder msifire CEL :(

Got a CEL yesterday briefly after I took the car out of my garage with my 2019 C63S sedan. Going to take the car to the dealership later during the week after the Xmas holidays.

Ran my OBD2 scanner and observed three codes, two seem to be related to misfire and not sure of the third. Seems identical to the misfire issues reported https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...s-coupe-7.html.
P0300, P0301 and C0703

Not uncommon. I think the factory plug gaps are set a little too loose personally.

Took my car in for service to get the misfire issue diagnosed along with other minor issues I had (Parking sensors going crazy even when I'm not trying to park, windshield wiper skipping issue, etc.). Since I was there, I also took care of the rear-axle differential service.

They followed mostly standard procedures for the most part and diagnosed it to two of the ignition coils being faulty. I encountered the misfire when I started the car in my garage and same was their observation as well. They observed it on two of the cylinders during their tests and also observed that there was no misfire once the engine was running. The tech was friendly enough to order a new ignition coil pack for four of the eight cylinders. They are on backorder and will take few weeks to arrive. They said that the car should be meanwhile safe to drive but it is expected that I will see CELs until they replace the coils. They gave me the option to either leave the car with them until they get it fixed or pick it up and bring it back again when they have the coils available. I did the latter since I didn't want to leave the car with them for that long.

As for the parking sensor issues, they did some recoding but it started failing when I was trying to leave the dealership. I informed the tech about this and they said they can order new sensors and get them replaced when they do the coils.

I have had no issues driving the car, and even yesterday I was pushing it on the freeway ramps. Let's see how it goes.

There is a coil recall for the W205. Check with your dealer they will be able to help

I just had the same problem and coils were the fix. They told me it was okay to drive as it took a week for the part(s) to come from Germany.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone know more details about the coil recall? Any reference number or something of that sort I can show to my SA? When I took it for service I asked my SA about possible recalls, but the info he pulled didn't indicate any active recalls. He said since the facelift is relatively new, it's likely any recalls on the facelift would take few more months to be issued by MB.

They are still replacing the coils, it's already been ordered by the SA. Let's see how that goes.

Mine still misfires after the ~$11k work being done on my 19 coupe. They basically opened the whole engine and put it back together while casing physical damages to the car (big scrape on my personal aftermarket wheels, side skirt scratch, front bumper apron, and a scratch on front bumper).

I gave up taking the car back to dealer and try to enjoy it until I return the car for good. Apparently 180 days in dealership wasn’t enough. Super disappointed here!!!!
