2020 AMG GTC Coupe & 2018 Macan Turbo
I drive a 2018 Macan Turbo. I intentionally purchased it with 18-way seats instead of the 14's. I can make an 18 feel like a 14 but not the other way around. My wife purchased a 2020 C63S coupe WITH the racing seats. For her at 5'7" they fit her. But you have to keep in mind her last two cars were C63 AMG's too.
For me, MB seats have never been all that comfortable for my back (09 ML63, 09 C63 sedan P1, P2, 13 AMG coupe w/Dev Pkg). The racing seats aren't much different. I can't get the right pressure in the right areas for my upper back.
I looked at the regular seats and they remind me of the Macan's sport seats. But, MB seats have never been.....

My gf hates them, she uses a seat cushion we got in montreal at the f1 race a few years ago, perfect fit between the bolsters and a big improvement in comfort for long drives.

I am 6ft and about 233 lbs. I absolutely love mine and I find them very comfortable. I bought my car in MD and drove it 10 hours back to Atlanta so I’ve had pretty good seat time.

i wish i felt the same. not to mention getting in and out of the car with the Aero package and the performance seats isn’t the easiest. maybe i’m getting old?

Now getting out can be much easier if you place your left hand on the sill and right hand on steering wheel and lift upwards. You save the wear on the side bolster also.

I'm debating ordering a 2020 C63s with or without the performance seats. Currently have a 2009 C63 sedan that have very heavily bolstered seats and the "new" performance seats actually feel less aggressive than what I currently have. Of course I have no real experience with the new performance seats other than just sitting for a couple of minutes at the dealership. Decisions...decisions!

Here's what I do. You need to simply change up your seating position(s) for comfort and less fatigue. I have three different positions set in memory and I change/rotate them up on a trip or long drives and that helps immensely. Spend some time on the settings for your memory (1-3). Try it. It worked for me.

The performance seats look great but I bought my car used so I didn’t really have any choice. Mine doesn’t have that option but the regular seats are very comfy. I spend about two hours a day in them and I’m 5’11” and about 205lbs. These seats are better than the seats my last MB had, which was an E550 coupe.

I would never have bought mine without them. But I definitely spent a good two weeks in discomfort after receiving mine constantly trying to find a good combination of settings. I did eventually find it - and my opinion on them changed completely. I think they are extremely comfortable now and I wouldn't change them for anything. But it definitely took a while and a lot of fidgeting with the controls to get there.

No hate here. They are some of the best seats I've had. I'm 5'11" around 203lbs. I was actually about 15lbs heavier when I picked up the car, so I am reacquainting myself with the seats, but I drove ~6500 miles in 8 weeks through Europe after picking up the car at the beginning of May. Many 6+ hours day trips. Longest one was almost 12 hours. No issues with the seats. They are great. I keep the side bolsters deflated for comfort, but fully inflate them on a fun road. They keep me planted. Since end of September when the car arrived in the USA I put on about another 3000 miles and another 12 hour day trip. Key is definitely proper seating position. I have the back fairly upright with steering wheel all the way extended. If you stretch out your arms you should be able to rest you wrists on the top portion of the steering wheel with your back resting against the seat. If you have to move your upper body forward in order to rest your wrists on the steering wheel, then your driving position is wrong. The advise about changing positions on longer drives is a good one, too. I have the driver assistance package, so on longer drivers I can move my legs, and I do recline the seat for more comfort, letting the car do most of the driving and I shift my body around. You don't wanna sit in the same position for hours.

As stated above finding your right adjustment is the key factor. Like '///Bruce' I also had a Macan with 18 way adjustment seats. They were very comfortable but I find the C63s performance seats better (I have back and hip problems.) The forward seat leg extension position is important for me. Mine is nearly all forward giving good support under the thighs which then increases the effect of a correctly positioned lumbar support. I experimented with many positions as my general rule for seat adjustment in previous cars didn't apply to these seats. The only annoyance I have with the driver's seat is that the seatbelt sometimes makes a creaking sound where it touches the seat near my left shoulder.

They will break in with use and get more comfortable. They will never be soft and comfy, but I find them to be great seats to hold you in place and for drives under 2 hours, no issues for me. (2 hours tends to be my longest normal drive).

Since it is gonna be my DD, I ordered mine without perf seat. It could be comfort later on but I didn't wanna go through finding of the Comfort position.. Also I got a back problem already.

Honestly, Performance seats were a non-negotiable option for me. Previously I owned an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV and didn't spec the Carbon bucket seats. I hated myself for not getting one with it. I ended up paying through the nose to upgrade the seats afterwards. Lesson learned.

When I was 23 years old, I was still in the Air Force. Had just returned from Thailand after three years there. When I got stationed stateside, I was sent to Beale AFB. It's north(?) of Sacramento, Ca. I found and bought a 1970 Jag XKE coupe. And not that 2+2 style. It was described by a racecar driver once as "an engine pulling two bucket seats and a gas tank". What was uique about it, if you've never had the chance, is when you sit in it, you get down into it. The side sill is almost identical to the Dodge Viper. More unique still was you completely stretched your legs out inside a channel. For me back then, I was limber from the work I did and studying the martial arts while deployed.
Today, I might be able to get in, but I'd need a crane to help me out. This new C63S reminds me a little of that. I'm not sure about the stock seats, but for the racing seats, you really drop down into the car. Down into the seat. If I have enough room to open the door wide enough, no issues. If I get jammed up by a jerk parking too close, it's a struggle. Especially getting out. But as others have started to admit, I too am getting use to the seats.
The wife drove us to some friends house yesterday. I had more than enough time to focus on getting the passenger seat just the way I want it and then programmed that into the seat. Now knowing that, I have a fairly good idea where my seat needs to be next time I get behind the wheel.
BTW, getting back to the Jag, I would get a friend and we'd head out the back gate of the base. Soon enough, we turned onto Hwy 20(?) and then drive up through the mountains to Grass Valley. Then on to Truckee, Donnor Summit, Reno and eventually Sparks, NV. The drive back was a trip! Two lanes of new blacktop downhill the whole way.
No mountains in Houston!
