Simple Multibeam Retrofit (no Multibeam functions)
How difficult would it be to retrofit multi-beams with only the basic functions (high beam, signals, daytime running lights) onto a base LED car?
It looks like from other posts, trying to retrofit adaptive or multibeams with all their functions require custom wiring and software reprogramming. Would it be the same with only the basic functions?
Thanks,

Probably extremely difficult and unpractical. I had one of my multibeams replaced due to a crack from a rock.
The multibeams connect to modules and tie into a camera system at the top of the windshield. This integrates with the software of the car which monitors the system and will spring errors if the headlights are malfunctioning.
And this is not mentioning the cost of the multibeams which cost around $2500 a pop. That's for one and not a whole set.
You'd be better off just trading in your car (assuming it's a facelift) and buying one equipped with multibeams

There is an alternative out there. Multibeam replicas that are not genuine mb parts but come with the proper adapter to retrofit with basic functionality. They still use the 74led array the multibeams have, etc. I ordered a set almost a month back but stuck in customs unfortunately. A huge plus being they are euro spec so dont have the orange reflectors the dot headlights require. I will report back with results.

i do oem multibeam retrofits. it is expensive as someone above has said. with good condition used parts usually runs around 3-4k. you cant have then work without adaptive funciton. its all or nothing.

Yes, they work with the exception of the auto function. I can only manually turn on/off the low beams. No errors or any other issues. I did not attempt or have to code anything. Installed them in March and have put 5k+ miles on it, they really are great quality!

They come with an adapter harness and resistors to keep the side marker led error from alerting. No stock harness modification is needed.
I did have to remove the bumper to install but no need to remove the crash bar or anything further.

Thank you. Not sure if it can be coded to work or not on these.
Nope, they are replicas I ordered from betaparts out of Dubai. I did not want the orange reflector / side markers that comes in the US version.

Any updates from others that have done this?
I am looking into getting a set for a PFL without the Advanced Lighting Package. Based on the table here, it looks like my combination will be compatible with the exception of my lights being in the “European model” table and not in the “American model” table.

Selling the car and swapped back to stock. Let me know if anyone is interested in purchasing. I spent 1.2K and would be willing to let them go for $800 plus shipping. Would prefer someone in the continental US as the boxes are big. This is the perfect chance to get rid of the orange reflectors also since they are Euro spec!
