Best Bang for Buck Mods?
Haven't been here in a while but I just picked up a 2018 C63 (base) Coupe.
Can anyone recommend a good set up for a tune, intake, downpipes, lowering? Looking for slightly better aesthetics and handling and better throttle response and obviously a bump in horsepower.
Am currently considering:
Suspension: KW Sleeves or HR Springs
Tune: JB4 or via tune via Handheld?
Downpipes: Generic good enough?
Intake: BMS good enough for just sound?
Thanks!
Susp: no input, i like stock
Tune: JB4 hands down
Downpipes: only worth it if catless
Intake: BMS or ZAC black glass version
OBD tunes change a lot more than timing and boost , they also switch on and off points for your intercooler and the speed they run at and your LP fuel pumps ramp to name a few.
Ive been through a few tunes and swear by golabworx , Kevin’s a legend , he never sleeps just tunes cars.
If your just going todo down pipes and a tune I would go with a OBD tune and get yourself a HP Tuners MVI for data logging

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against flash tunes. My last BMW had both a JB4 and a flash tune and it worked great. If I ever get to the point of heavy modifications on this car I will probably look into a flash tune to compliment the JB4 again in order to better customize more detailed parameters. However for stock turbo C63s, the JB4 just makes more sense. Again just my opinion, And no disrespect to those who choose a flash tune..
I do believe that intakes add power on our platform, however gains very. Also you will be easing stress on the turbos by making it easier for them to draw in air.

Am currently considering:
Suspension: KW Sleeves or HR Springs - KW always - far superior to H&R. Im running HAS kit and its perfect
Tune: JB4 or via tune via Handheld? - I did a full custom tune, but i suppose it depends how important warranty and potential power are to you. JB4 was obsolete on the f8x and f3x platforms and its obsolete on benz too. Eurocharged, renntech and weistec are all proven
Downpipes: Generic good enough? Yes and no - dont need to spend a fortune. I went with SSR and theyre fantastic for half the price of some other brands. ModalWorks would also be a great option
Intake: BMS good enough for just sound? I would go ModalWorks here as well. Thankfully this platform with actually pick up some HP and noticeable power gains with just CAI. Thats generally not true.
Thanks!
See my replies above...Hope it helps
