Clearing permanent CEL code
I've been getting a P0456 code (small EVAP leak) that comes back 1-2 days after I clear it. It's listed as a permanent code. I've taken the car to a shop that inspected the EVAP lines thoroughly and they can't find anything wrong with the car. I have a secondary cat delete, but that has nothing to do with the EVAP system. However, because of the cat delete, my service advisor doesn't want to lift the car as they would see the exhaust modification and void the exhaust warranty. There is nothing wrong with the car, and I'm wondering if I can just buy an iCarSoft MB V2 OBD scanner to clear the permanent code? I have a crappy OBD scanner that clears CEL codes but not the permanent ones. How could I go about getting rid of the code?

This place is a joke.
You clear it by first repairing the fault. There's no such thing as a "permanent" fault code, only "current" or "stored."
