First two C63S TCU tunes in North America were done Saturday in NY.
Raised line pressure, Increase in clutch clamping,Faster shifts, faster paddle response, and raised tq limits in the TCU of course so it doesn't limit tuned power, so the HP #'s truly translate to the real world tarmac.
MCT in the C63S are limited in tq to around 520FT LBS in the TCU. Will wait on the owner to chime in with his dragy runs, but he dropped his 60-130 by over half a second.

Are you tuning the 7 speeds, 9 speeds or both?

That's awesome! I'm in the Chicago area unfortunately, can TCU tune be done remotely by handheld like the ECU tunes?

Not quite....
power-technik did a TCU tune back in 2017 which involved reprogramming of the solenoid control, and increasing pump pressure to raise torque capacity.
And there's another tuner who successfully tuned the TCU in early 2019 via a reflash.
Nonetheless, congrats on the TCU done. If this can be done remotely, that would def. be a gamechanger...

Thank you very much sir. My information was from the local AMG C crowd told me there was no full flashed TCU here in the states, but to be fair, this is a full TCU software optimization and upgrade of the OEM software. Solenoid control and pump pressure alone is not enough.
We have full control of the TQ limit maps, for each gear, which are raised or completely removed depending on the end user wishes, and we raise line pressure, clamping force of the clutch, hold pressure, and other maps to match in the TCU so the driving experience is much more responsive and fun.

Unfortunately not, that technology when it comes to TCU's has not caught up yet.

Any good ?
Using the T-Box gives your car faster gear shifts and more top end acceleration.
Tornado Tuning T-Box Description
The T-Box is a transmission updating box, using obd ii k-line to reprogram the gearbox computer to highest mode.Using the T-Box gives your car faster gear shifts and more top end acceleration.

You say the TCU is limited to 520ft/lbs or 700Nm but a stage 1 or 2 tune exceeds those numbers so could you explain what you mean?

Yep that's pretty much true. I've heard and read that tuners will actually adjust their map to limit torque to stay under the pre-facelift trans limits.

Whenever this becomes available in ATX I’m down. Is a partner network planned? Eurocharged in Austin or DME in Houston?
Given that most ECU tunes available currently aren’t accommodating for a proper TCU tune, are there plans for updates tunes or new ones available that will be optimized for the TCU tune?

I’d be very interested in this as well. Unfortunately, I’m closer to the west coast, being in Arizona. Would be great if something like that was worked out with DME in TX or Weistec in Cali, as I could easily drive to those, but NY is quite the cruise haha.

So based on my research, there are a few TCU tune options available for our cars. @brutus_tx on MBWorld has one available (I believe within the month, requires to be on-site), as does kirklandhans on IG (also requires to be on-site). Solo Motorsports claims to have the first available, Renntech now apparently has a TCU tune available for M177 (quite expensive however) and from what I understand, they already raise the TCU TQ limits on their ECU tune, GAD makes their TCU tune mandatory with their Stage 1 ECU (maybe that's why these GAD guys are so fast?!), but also very expensive. Seems inevitable that Eurocharged will be coming out with their own TCU tune which could then be bundled with their ECU upgrade (especially with their new Flex Fuel/E85 tune). I'm sure there are others available now or companies currently working on them, so if I've missed any, please add!
It seems like it's only a matter of time before TCU tunes become more widely available, but it's a very exciting breakthrough for this platform and other AMG platforms (M157 guys) that have previously been held back by the transmission TQ limits.
For reference in a GLC63 dropped .33 seconds in just 0-60 after installing a Solo Motorsports TCU tune.

So dare I say, that much like the slow progress with our ECUs (initially you had to pull the ECU and hack it physically to tune it, then came the ECU bench flashes, then came the OBD-II remote ECU flashes etc), hopefully soon enough we'll be able to pay for a TCU tune and have it done remotely, without flying in a tuner or driving the car to a shop hundreds of miles away...

I'm a board member of the AMG Social Club and we have been working on sponsoring a TCU tuning session for enthusiasts in the Texas/LA region.
EC ATX have graciously offered a Group Buy price for people wishing to get a MCT TCU tune in our region.
Group Buy numbers are limited so if people are interested they should jump on this opportunity.
See below for more information on the tune and how you can get it in our region!

It takes about 30 minutes for the TCU tune and apparently is a much more complex process that can’t be done on a hand held device. It’s also a permanent change that can not be reverted back. Hopefully in the future, TCU tunes will be something we can install via OBD like we can now with ECU tunes 👍
