The part # references "Front Sunroof Glass" or "Fixed glass" but I also found them on Ebay listed as "Fixed Plastic Glass". So you're probably right; it may very well be plastic. If so, that's impressive. It literally looks like it's glass...
On second thought, I can't believe I just paid that much for a piece of plastic lol.

not sure who at benz told you that.. its PLASTIC 1000%
I drove into my MB dealership in May, and my SA saw the delamination, and said it happens all the time (more so in places like Florida) and that its covered under factory warratany. (that is when they also warrantied the clips on the roof down the side (they were turning purple like the front spoiler was)
(my c63s is a 2016 fyi) My warranty expires in November, and I went with a 3rd party aftermarket warranty to extend passed that.
I am just shocked at all the different responses to this "part" , there is a MB adhesive that they use, (I wrongly named it 3M prior , my bad)
They had them instock when they did mine, and said they do 5-8 a week on average.

I was under the impression that cosmetic stuff was only under warranty for the first year? It extends until the factory warranty expires? Mind sharing the invoice showing it was replaced under warranty? Cuz I'd like to take that back to my service advisor and get him to refund me if that's the case....

Ah ok. So it was a discretionary thing. Yea I had my previous SA hook me up before on an item or two. I guess this one I had to pay up for.

Trim Warranty and adjustments are under warranty for only the first year but depends on your SA. For eg I took my car in for the various rattles and one dealership said we will charge you because this comes under adjustments which has expired. Took it to the dealership where I always go and they just said they will fix it under warranty.
i agree, alot of items do come down to your relationship with your SA, but also MB doesnt like there AMG’s looking like crap on the road.
i havnt heard of MB rejecting a warrenty claim on these .
A MB dealer submits these to MB corp for approval, of which the SA and manager can override or push thru.
If they tell you they will charge you, ask them to run it, if these still give you crap then up the game and call MB Customer relations.

I emailed MB customer service and they informed me because my car is out of the 4 year/50K mile warranty... by about 6 months... there's nothing they can do to help me out. Guess I'll try more dealerships.

I put my car into service today (B1) and pointed to some small bubbles in my roof panel (would never have asked if not for this thread)....SA immediately knew about it and said they will take care of it, no problem. He actually confirmed they have seen quite a few of these and are used to replace them under warranty. That was easy. Thanks to the forum - or I would never mentioned it to the SA.

Mine is lifting and corporate is not willing to help me out at all. I’ve had this specific piece replaced 2x before. Once it flew off into traffic behind me, second time I caught it starting to lift. Now it’s lifting again and it’s about $1,800 after tax to get this replaced.
