I believe we are all entitled to a straight-up answer as to why ads are not either in the Marketplace OR create a new section that anyone can post endless pics in selling their wares. And, in this way, they can 'bump' to their hearts content for the same stuff day in and day out.
Generally, Moderators are volunteers who enforce the guidelines that have been structured. While Vendors are usually not immune to the basic guidelines (such as language or content violations), Vendors have business contracts with Internet Brands, parent company who owns MBWorld, that give them the ability to use the forum to advertise their services and/or products in a commercial manner. Therefore, it's not fair to call out the Moderators to take Moderator action against the Vendors who are using the site to advertise their products and/or services as they've paid to do so. Instead, you can provide feedback using the appropriate avenues. There's a Feedback section, which was linked to in an aforementioned post, and there's also a Contact link. Administrator Bob can also be contacted via PM.

To answer your question, Vendors support the community. While MBWorld is free to access and use by members for non-commercial purposes, it is not free to operate. Internet Brands is a business with employees and there are expenses to operating sites as large and active as MBWorld. Putting all advertisements in one specific area is not exactly a complete solution for the same reasons you don't find radio airing all their commercials in one specific time slot, YouTube displaying all ads at the end of the video, and Twitter, Facebook and Google displaying all their ads outside of the content people are viewing or looking for. Vendors need exposure to operate their business and continue to support the community and their own workers. With the recent world concerns occurring, that has been an even greater issue.

Administrator Bob (https://mbworld.org/forums/members/1...peedlimit.html) is aware of the feedback and concerns. He works with Internet Brands to help MBWorld continue to grow and succeed. While it's not reasonable to expect advertisements to simply disappear, Bob, Internet Brands and the Vendors work together to try and find a best solution that allows the Vendors to promote their products and/or services, as they pay to do so, while also keeping Mercedes-Benz community content in view.

Bob might jump into this thread, or the other thread linked above, but I'm closing this thread since this section is supposed to be for MB related topics.

Hey everyone,

The vendors ads are not spam, they are exercising their contractual rights to market products and services. The forum founders created that advertising model (they were vendors) and that is not going change since many vendors have long term campaign contracts. The issue is the frequency of ads and bumps which we can try to moderate. We are not as strict with those metrics during this Covid19 pandemic since many vendors are struggling to survive. A little empathy for small business will be appreciated. The timing of when you request a search of new posts is also a factor as several vendors update their ads later in the evening and earlier in the morning. I'll try to get those spaced out better to ensure forum content not is being masked and have asked the IB Automotive Community manager to review this discussion.

Please send me a PM if you have any further questions. Thank you!

Thanks.
