Any chance we can ask sellers and distributors of wheels, exhaust systems and cars to post their ads in the Marketplace section where they belong. How many times a day do we need to see bumps for the same wheels in the main forum section? Gets old.

Agreed. This section is often littered with spam and our good topics get lost in the fog of "Reduce tire wear" etc. threads.
My guess is they pay to be here. We get to use this forum for free. A little advertising doesn't bother me. Perhaps mb world could go to a paid subscription to block ads. But people are cheap so....

Some ads is okay but seeing the same stuff over and over and even daily new threads with the same is just annoying. And if too many people get annoyed than there will be fewer people watching and that means less business for the people who want to sell here. Got to be a balance and some, not all sellers, just repost the same stuff over and over and over.

i know what you mean but at the end of the day they are paying for it and we arent paying for anything so cant complain. Just trying to be rational i guess

Yes and no, we pay for the cars and the stuff they sell...its a give and take and balance. ...and I am sure we pay much more on parts than a paid forum would be.

When I visit this site a few times a day, I refresh the page. I can guarantee you that some of these vendors are 'bumping their ads multiple times per day. I don't have a problem with vendors selling their stuff on this forum and others. But as some have pointed out, it's the same 'niose' every day. There is absolutely no reason they can't post the same same same same same ads on the MARKETPLACE where it belongs.
But that's just my opinion. Never saw this on M3Forum or Porsche Macan forum or Bimmer forum or GT500 forum or the Honda Si forum...
I am annoyed with the volume and repetitiveness of the "ads" as well but understand that they finance our membership here and why they are so numerous in the "New Posts" list.

That's nice... Is there a reason they can't post the same repetitive ads on the Marketplace? Each page shows 50 threads. Of those, on Page 1, there are fifteen (15) ads for the same wheels, the same door lock pins, the same CF parts and pieces, the same exhaust systems.... I want to learn about my vehicles. How to care for them. How to repair them. How to avoid some pitfalls others sometimes find themselves in. This is something that is not tolerated on other forums. Why this one?
I questioned this and was told by a mod that essentially vendors are allowed to spam this website. I was even given a warning when replying to their spam telling them to stop. It makes this website look like a toilet bowl of spam! Maybe we can contact someone higher up from IB (internet brands) for a proper solution. My personal solution is to NEVER give these vendors my business.

For sure I'm down for a paid subscription. I pay yearly on Lamborghini Talk (hardly even go on there) and ill be more than happy to pay $50-$100 or whatever for a membership here. We've got a good forum and I can't go a day without logging on to this site

Agree, it's the same offenders who spam every sub forum. Vendors instead should participate in discussing and offer their knowledge and solutions and some do and we appreciate and buy from them but some simply spam (see screen shot from previous post). Other free forums kick them out of this part of the forum and refer them strictly to the "vendor sponsored" market place. Why not here? I also think it gets worse, wasn't that bad before.
The real tragedy here is that it's only 5 or so vendors that take a big hot crap on this website, there's no reason it can't be stopped by the site owners.
AR_spamwerks is the #1 offender. Be sure not to do ANY BUSINESS with these people.

Damn, that's just way too much. That kind of sh*t is just sad.
Let's not over simplify and pretend like people complaining about how the advertising is done, are arguing that no advertising should be done.
There's probably a better way than cluttering the main discussion forms.
Also agree would be great if these same vendors were offering expertise and help on threads more to offset the clutter.
I just made the mistake of browsing the C63/204 forums, there are 17 vendor re-posts in the first 2 pages alone. What a trash bin, it's incredible IB lets this continue, it's essentially a battle of which vendor can out-spam the other to keep their repetitive crap posted first. Wow.

I believe we are all entitled to a straight-up answer as to why ads are not either in the Marketplace OR create a new section that anyone can post endless pics in selling their wares. And, in this way, they can 'bump' to their hearts content for the same stuff day in and day out.
