Need help with tires 285 front 325 rear

Currently have 265/30/20 on front and 325/25/20 on rear. Tire shop is recommending removing spacer on front and going 285/30/20 on front because the 265 don’t match the car load rating. Currently have 20mm spacer. With the 285 fill the space enough? Don’t want to order them and not like the look. And is ok to not match the load rating?

first off - nice 👍 car!! What type of tires you use in front with wrong load rating? 285 vs 265 gives you 20mm more tire but removing 20mm spacers and adding 285 tires will still leave you with 10mm difference vs fender fitment and will likely rub on suspension inside. You can match your current look with 10mm spacers and 285 and should not have any issue with suspension.

Thanks! Currently running Michelin pilot sport 4s with 94 load index. Local tire shop won’t put anything under 96 load index on the car due their system specs for this car. Is that correct?

I would have to look that up what Michelin sells but was not aware that the pilot sport even come as. 94. Metal edge ...I guess you are lowered quite a bit and have wear. Can look into kmac camber kit,

this is the current tire and it’s on a 10inch wide wheel on the front

Funny...I literally just watched the YouTube video of this car being done, by like RDLB or something in LA. I’d love to go widebody eventually so I could run some nice concave rears with a proper lip as well and 325+. Tune and DPs first though I think.
Car looks great though man.
I’m not sure but maybe check the Michelin cup2 if have higher load rating?

Thanks! Went to 285 in the front and trying to source a smaller spacer. Unfortunately Michelin are on backorder until July for those sizes so I had to go with Pirelli P zero, which I’m not fond of at all.

Our cars have a ton of camber. I currently go through a set of fronts about once a season since i'm lowered on KW V3's.

I'm leaning towards weistec or renntech, but I think I may wait a bit and see how these tcu tunes shape up. Solo motorsports has one, eurocharged just came out with theirs, so I'd assume weistec and renntech can't be far behind.

Seems like it could be alot of wasted power without one, I would think a tcu tune will help put the power down much better, especially in combination with some nice 305s.

So maybe I should get my suspension and wheel/tire setup taken care of in the interim. In the KW v3 setup, does that negate all the factory adjustable dampening? Or does it work still ?
I was thinkin more along the lines of the HAS systems from KW, weistec, or renntech. Im probably too low with current HR springs to add much width in rears. Plus I'm thinking of some forged 3pc with small lip.

The K3 V3's delete the EDC. Their system allows you to put a module into the EDC so code it out. Zero issues with it. The HAS is something I personally wouldn't do. I know a lot of people who have blown shocks with most HAS setups. The OEM Shocks aren't designed to be used with them.

I don’t think I’d go full coils, I like ability to adjust on the fly with EDC. Also some of the Full coil systems that allow you to keep EDC are 5-7k+. I’m not building a track car haha, I just want a nice ride, minimize wheel gap, and better wider wheel/tire setup.
I could see how it may cause increased stress on shocks especially if HAS system was set very low, but in my case I’d most likely have them set to one of the highest settings. I really only want to add wider wheel/tires, 305 or 315 if possible and still look ok, then lower just enough to close the wheel gap a bit. That shouldn’t take much, and in reality that should cause less stress on the shocks than my current setup with HR springs at 0.8” drop (seems be a good bit lower) as i can’t imagine I’d need any lower than the minimum drop on KW HAS or similar system. Unless I’m wrong.

if I could get away with oem springs and it not have much wheel gap, I would, but I doubt it. I wish they just made different height oem springs with a small drop. I also can’t go any lower, logistically, my driveway and garage won’t permit it haha. Currently, I have about a 1/4” clearance on my front lip/splitter on the front step or curb in my garage, and it’s close goin over the apex goin from inclined driveway to garage.
