I know we just had that topic and case was closed...still annoyed. I am on many forums and no other forum tolerates such excessive spam...maybe a filter setting somewhere to filter those out?

I understand from the sponsor side, as well as from the members.. I also feel that due to the current issues in the world, that it has left more and more sponsors with idle time, and they are on all forums posting and re posting trying to get each sale they can.
With all that in mind, this forum is FREE to us members, and it gives PRICELESS amounts of information and ability to talk to real people about all aspects of our cars etc. So there is tons of value in that, and if I have to skip over some ads, so be it..
(can the ads be dealt with in a different manner, or better way ?? yes of course ... although , once things get back to somewhat of a norm, I think they will subside as before)
I have had the pleasure to "e meet (email or PM, etc) with people like @zipzap , that provided me with his knowledge when I asked about turbos, and other items for my car, and that is worth more then dealing with some ads being posted by paying sponsors....

It's obnoxious. Complete overkill with no limits it seems. I am a member of another pretty well known forum and there is a voluntary $10 annual fee. Some pay some don't but it keeps it running smooth and clean. No spam, no junk ads...period. Advertisers have their own sub.
