Best tire choice for less road noise

Hi guys,

What would be the best tire choice for the C63s sedan and getting less road noise into the cabin? I am running Michelin PSS today with 33 psi and its still pretty noisy on the rough roads we have here.

After reading many different threads it seems like PS4s is the way to go, but have anyone tried different brand/models and then switched to ps4s? Would love some advice/feedback on this from people who tried different tires on cars like ours

UHP tires are generally naturally on the noisier side. It's one price to pay for their performance, but the PS4S is definitely noticeably quieter than the PSS. Also rides more comfortably. It's an all-around improvement over the PSS. At least from the reviews I watched a little while ago, noise and ride comfort are among the best if not the best in the UHP segment. I haven't really bothered with many other tires. I pretty much had Pirellis and Michelin tires on all my performance cars. However, if noise is a big criteria for you, then you need to shop a different category. Touring tires are essentially the quietest you can get, but not sure if there are any available for the C63S. Another option are high performance all-season tires which tend to be quieter. The Conti DWS 06 seems to be one of the favorites. You'll give up performance and handling, but gain comfort etc. All depends on what you are looking for in a tire. The PS4S is definitely the best tire I've had so far, but I prioritize performance and handling above everything else. The PS4S does not disappoint in other areas, though.

I’m pretty happy with my Michelin A/S 3+ all seasons. They ride pretty quiet in comfort mode. They are probably not as grippy as PSS or PS4s but decent enough grip for me as I don’t do launches.

Well the quietest tire out there may not be great for performance, so you may want to clarify how high on your priority list is performance versus road noise.

I can say that none of the michelins (incl PSS, AS3, PS4) or continentals (DW, Crosscontact) I've used on my cars or wife's SUV have had much road noise.

If you want to cancel out the road noise and sound like a hovering UFO instead, I'd recommend Toyo R888R's.

Another vote for a PS4S! Car came with the SportMaxx which werent great. Noisy, fast wear and not that great. PS4S are faster to warm up, quieter (not silent) and grip in the wet is great. Big thumbs up from me!
