No more MB:(
To credit BMW, they are offering a manual transmission on the new M3/4, at east they're trying. If you can get past the grill it might actually be a pretty cool toy. Definitely deserves more consideration after the news on the upcoming 4 banger c63e hybrid with the tesla tablet dash.

I hate to admit it but I think the new M3/M4 sound much better, they no longer sound like a lawn mower.

The only issue I have with them is the exterior design, the grills to be more specific. I couldn’t get myself to like them in person and the design isn’t growing on me like most people out there are saying. Can’t argue taste so to me BMW ruined what could have otherwise been a perfect car.

Personally, if I had to choose between G80 M3 and W206 C63e, I’d go AMG.

Had a chance to sit in and drive one. I had been eagerly waiting for this M3/4 as I wanted to get back into BMW's. I give them credit for the manual, but even that was a carryover, and not a good one. Not to mention they are trying to kill it, they only paired it with the base trim, not the comp, and that manual can handle more power and torque as seen by the previous F10 M5, so its not like they couldn't have paired it to the comp trim. BMW knows that the comp will sell more, especially when AWD comes out. Sadly the excellent DCT was also killed in favor of the ZF auto which is boring compared to the excellent DCT of the E9X and F8X. For a Manual M3/4, mods are needed to improve it in my opinion, especially the clutch which is a lot more springy than most BMW's I remember, and the rubbery and vague shifter.

In my opinion, only M to go for at the moment is an F87 M2. I'd get an F8X M3/4 over a new M3/4, new one is not much of an improvement, and even if it was looks are drop dead awful. Exhaust also still sounds awful, not as much burbles as the F8X, but still another mod needed. I'm more interested in the Cadillac Blackwings coming out, if the previous generation is any indicator, they will be best in class dynamically.

Agreed on the Cadillacs. If I didn't have the AMG already I would seriously consider. I attended a Cadillac event at Lime Rock a few years ago where we drove ATS-Vs and CTS-Vs all day long at speed and they were really good dynamically as you said. The main things holding them back were interior quality/CUE on both, engine quality (not speed) on the ATS-V and the transmission on the CTS-V.
