C63s AMG Coupe (2019)
Need help fixing issues!

Hello everyone,

First time poster. My mom got a C63s AMG coupe last year, the car is a 2019 and is a little less than a year old and has about 4,000 miles on it.

A few months ago she got a warning to add a quart of oil. She took the car in and they said the oil was fine but something had to be fixed in the engine computer, the dealer said they'd order the part, but never did and we forgot to follow up as my mom rarely drives the car.

Last week she went on a longer drive and ran into a ton of issues. The oil light came back on (only a few hundred miles after the last time), the TPMS system started flashing and the tire pressure changed quite a bit within a day of operating the car (flashing @ 38 psi when initially going off, then the next day still flashing but at 33/34 psi which seems like a fine range for the tire pressure). We got another error message that the blind spot detection is not operational due to the sensors being dirty (the car was just washed). Then, the center console screen went black and all the media turned off (she was using apple carplay at the time). Another issue that has been persistent is the range predictions for the gas tank are really weird. for example it will say 230 miles when the car starts, then after driving 75 miles it will continue to increase up to say 280 miles range on the tank.

Would love some help and feedback on these issues as I feel like our dealer has not been that helpful up to this point. We are taking the car back to mercedes but want to know what we are dealing with so as to not get scammed.

Appreciate all the help!

With the car still being under the original factory warranty, I wouldn't worry about getting scammed. There is obviously a problem with the car and they will solve it. It might be something as simple as a bad sensor, or battery related since it seems the car is parked far more than it is driven.

the issue is persisting and the dealerships have not been helpful, just shining us on again and again. Any advice on how to get this handled? They’ve told us that they were waiting for a software update, but it seems like the oil issue has been going on since 2017.

Wait a minute! => "First time poster. My mom got a C63s AMG coupe last year, the car is a 2019..." Then you say => "but it seems like the oil issue has been going on since 2017."

Your years don't match. Explain, please....

That's not what I asked. You said it was a 2019. But in the next(?) sentence you said this had been going on since 2017. I asked for clarification.

Sorry for the lack of clarity. Her car has been having issues since March of 2020, The dealerships said that Mercedes was working on a software update that should fix the issue, but from searching the forums, it seems like the "add a quart of oil" problem has been going on since 2017 when the car came out. Hope this makes more sense!

I understood you. FWIW. it's actually been going on since 2015. My 2016 has had this faulty oil level warning 3-4 times, but hasn't burned an ounce of oil since new (31k now). If your dealer isn't being helpful...find another dealer.
