Should go catted downpipes, you'll get similar power and benefits plus almost no smell and a solid chance of no CEL if you get the right cats.

I'm chasing that pre facelift sound. Would I get the cracks back even with a catted DP?

Absolutely, I got 200 cell cats installed last week and it crackles and pops everytime I let off the gas in race mode and it's louder now.
