Let us know how it works for your friend. What platform is he experimenting this with?
There are 2 guys in the USA doing full TCU flashes. @5soko has been doing them on e63s side for a few months now and C63s that he posted videos of.

Every shop has quoted me different prices (the delta from low to high is huge). I’ve seen as little as $1200 all the way up to $1800 for just the TCU - it’s obviously not transferable either (locked to your TCU module) so no resale value once you do it. I’m a firm believer that you should own software you purchase and have the ability (or legal right) to transfer/sell that license to the next owner...

Dyne performance I still havent seen results from them or talked to an customer or Seen information that provide real tcu tuning proof.
Kirklandhans is another mystery man who claims he does it but doesn't sell it and only 1-2 guys have it yet no proof of it existing besides him getting angry When asked and his annoyance being proof that It must be real lol
lastly solo motorsports also seems to have something going on, i have seen actual videos and customers with them, but their information about it is all over the place and they claim they do it in house, as we know the 2 men who do have access to this, are not in the usa. They might be resellers but their info and claims are horrible and off.
Thats what i meant when i said 2 lol 5soko and David seem to be the only guys who have actual information and facts on the tune, process and customers who have proof of logs/dragys.

It will become more commonly available as more shops and tuners license it or create versions of their own to suit their own applications. Hopefully that increases (pricing) competition and drives prices to something reasonable for a transmission tune ($500-800 IMO if it’s locked and non-transferable). Or just include it with an ECU tune...

Here is a fellow members car C63S, sounds amazing and is one clean beast!
TQ limits in the TCU are raised as to allow more power down to the ground but not fully removed as to still keep it safe, and of course line pressure, clamping pressure of the clutches are increased to match the increase in TQ, along with increase in shift speed, along with other nice small changes

It really makes for a more fun driving experience and nice performance increase.

Do not think the ECU tune would do this. Might be the JB4 and the extra power it's making but tricking the ECU.
Anyway happy about it, less interference the better.
I’m curious what sort of hurdles you had to jump over to remove the TQ limits? Is this something we could do at home or requires expensive flashing tools? You’ve definitely sparked my interest, very curious to know how you managed this, be great if you could share for the community!
Really the best way to get it done is via a proper Flash tune that accurately reports proper tq, with a full flash TCU tune, so they can work together
