It's a private group for people with the TCU tune, and specifically created to avoid the dumpster fires that y'all are so invested in creating

Thanks!

If you get the TCU tune and wanna act right - I am certain the group will welcome you with opened arms. Lots of activity, all enthusiasts, lots of dragy stuff, launch technique, kills, vids, banter etc.

Thanks!

Yes - Both cars have TCU tunes, upgrading the fuel system is much less expensive than doing turbos.

ET Street SS are totally fine in all conditions, including the rain, they last about 10k miles.

Again about the price, people love, and more than a few said they would have paid more based on the performance gain. Not sure about 'nut-hugging' - just some adult type people enjoying their cars to the fullest of their potential and chatting about it.

I don't know what the gun picture (that I'm pretty certain has been there since 2008) has to do with politics - it's a picture. Maybe go read the Constitution of our GREAT nation for some background. Also - you know you moved to Texas right?

REAL salty about a picture...

This employee is certainly not ashamed of his beliefs, and I won't fault him for it. He is also a very good tech, super hard worker, trustworthy, and honest. He will give you the same respect you give him, and you clearly don't respect him at all - so I guess don't expect it back?

Anyway - hope that answers all your questions.

Thanks!

Dave

Good day tobeit..... I'm the admin for the TCU WhatsApp users forum. We have a E tune forum as well, with cross pollination as a lot of the members in one have the other as well.
We are a culturally diverse group of performance based AMG enthusiasts. We are not, as some have alluded, a bunch of nut swingers...
As Dave mentioned, we created this user forum specifically because of dumpster fires like these that seem to attract caustic characters such as some of the other posters.
We have a short fuse for people who don't respect others in the chat and they don't last long.

For someone to join the group the stipulations are pretty straight forward.... you need to have purchased a TCU tune prior to admission. Just PM me your make/model, name & cellphone number. Once the TCU tune is confirmed, and you are on WhatsApp already, I add you to the group.

Be forewarned though, as performance based individuals we are truly a bunch of enablers, but also a font of technical know how.

I myself can vouch that the tcu is the best purchase I’ve done since my ecu tune. 10.5 133.4 stock turbos. The WhatsApp is very real with over 30 participants sharing ideas, data logging and getting real world gains.

"dumpster fires like these..." It might be appreciated if you just took your 'toys' and stayed in your own dumpster. Been a board member on countless forums. Frankly attitudes that have been shown here are usually not tolerated. To this extent: when potential buyers read threads such as this one, they will be hesitant in approaching you for this reason alone. This thread has not been your most brightest moments in gaining favor with those potential buyers.

Just my thoughts and opinion. And as everyone knows, opinions are like a-holes. Everybody has one. Right? Opinions will kill your business. It's called word of mouth.

Have a great afternoon. And, be safe out there.

Cool to see that I just received two warning from the MBWorld moderators and was told several of my posts have been removed.

So much for the first amendment, huh Dave? I guess when you’re a sponsor cutting a monthly check, anything goes.

Wonder if IG would take it down if I posted there? Seems like a way bigger crowd there than here anyways.

Cifdig - Nice 1/4 mile and trap on stock turbos. Care the share what car you have and any other mods?

If this is true, it would be a reason to leave this forum and search for help somewhere else. And also report this behavior to someone other than moderators. IF this is true....

LOL you guys are to much. TCU tune has proven results for ppl that actually race there car not post dyno vids and comment on forums. All it takes is for you to go for a drive with a car that has one and you can tell it’s better/faster. My car is a 212 e class and the diff is DAY AND NIGHT even in reg driving the car shifts way smoother and then when you give it a hit from a dig it really shows you how much better it is than stock.(if you actually run ur cars you’ll see)

I come in here to respond to a query around a WhatsApp chat that I manage for enthusiasts and commented on the fact that the thread did read like a dumpster fire due to the comments of certain individuals.

This place is owned by Internet Brands, just like all the other forums these days. It's a corporation. Not like it used to be back in the day. I have no reason to lie, I posted things that are apparently against the Terms of Use when I signed up 8 years ago.

Hey Dave,

Is this the tune?

Can you tell me why in the video, fourth gear seems to be extremely delayed after gear lever is pulled?

Ok, context is helpful. So you don’t have a W205 C63 running 130+ mph on stock turbos.

You have a 5.5l biturbo V8 on stock turbos with meth injection, ECU/TCU tune, and bolt-ons. And I’d assume you have AWD as well.

I can't tell you on that specific car during that specific run why it did that. I will however say that the TCU tune does not do anything to modify the CAN request for an upshift (from the paddle) to the TCU, or what the TCU does with that request once it is received. In that way the 7g-Tronic it not so much like a DCT or a PDK, which shift pretty much instantaneously.

Good question!

Thanks!

Dave

So the reason for the question was because you stated "Reduces Shift Times". So I was expecting it to shift more responsively than factory not less. Or did you mean something else by that statement?

Yes, the "reduced shift times" statement is accurate. Paddle shifting in manual mode or using Race Start w/ manual shifting is the slowest way to both shift and launch a Mercedes. The fastest way is brake boosting in Sport+ and allowing the Trans to upshift itself. In a comparison of two cars, one with TCU tune and one without - the TCU tuned car would leave harder with more power, and every shift would be quicker than the non-tuned car. The throttle won't close during shifts, and the engine will be making max tq in all gears. When I am talking about the shift times, it's the time taken to change from the gear you are in, to the next gear. Like soko said

Thanks!

Some of you dont like dave’s response or attitude, yet waste so much of your time and energy entertaining and going on and on and on and back and forth. I understand we are in a pandemic and days have been quite boring, but jeez....................... just dont buy what he is offering, tell people not to use him IF they ask for your advice or recommendations, and move the f**k on if you disagree with the way he answers questions or conducts business.

Considering the installation dealership he listed in Doral (miami) is down the street, I might swing in and see what type of shop they are.

I brought this up to our Coffee and Cars group, and everyone was in the same mindset as myself....

This is why euro charged us frowned uppon by the people who are actually putting time and and effort into their cars. Their holy grail is Slav and only slav. The rest behave like gargabe.

Im down here in Miami with a 850whp+ w205 and I was considering using them for the first time to do the TCU but after seeing his attitude towards a genuine question from a person who might not have the same experience as us. Well that's just sad.

hummm good feedback to know. I will have to dig in and see what is happening internally for sure.

We are actually seeing the highest growth this year in the company and really setting the bar in numerous platforms like M157 etc (even opening up a new location next week in NY) as well as developed some new tools to interface that is in test now.
