Post-Accident Panel Gap Check Request

Hey guys,
Awhile back, someone in a parking lot made a dumb mistake and hit my passenger front bumper/fender area. I just got the car back from a highly-rated bodyshop in town. I was worried about the color match, and so inspected that carefully before leaving the shop. However, once I got it home I noticed that the gap between the bumper and hood seems larger than it should be (unless I'm mis-remembering). I measured just under 1cm between the panels. The gap between the bumper and fenders is tiny (maybe 2mm?). Can someone do a sanity check for me and tell me if a panel gap that large is normal?

Thanks!

The gap should be around 3.5mm. And it is adjustable. There are 5 screws on top. Just loosen ii/not remove. Then close the hood. Use your hands and push in the bumper until you measure around 3.5mm gap all across. Finally re-tighten the screws.

The fender gap looks wide , mine are both 4mm and the ft bumper needs to be aligned as its over to the right slightly as it does not align to the hood in that photo

Thanks for all the replies, guys, sounds like the consensus is it's off a bit. I'll try and adjust it myself, or otherwise will have the body shop fix it.

That really doesn’t help as we have no idea how wide your fingers are. It appears that you have very feminine hands though.

After reading this thread, I went downstairs, out of the house and into the garage. You guys are making me work for this.... I whipped out my measuring stick. No. Not that one. I use a Stanley 25' tape measure. The gap between the hood and fenders is a smidge more than 1/8". The gap between the hood and the front grill (2020 C63S coupe...) measured at between 1/8" and 1/4". If your gap is over 1/4", you have a fitment issue.

For an accident you say that wasn't really bad, your shop looks like they messed up making it 'right'.

1st of all I love your paint color!

I think the body shop just did a terrible job aligning the panels. If you feel like you can handle it you can follow the instructions above to get them yourself, but I might not even try that and would probly just take it back to the shop and tell them to get it right. Let them know you will be taking measurements when you get it back.

I manage repairs at a high end collision center outside of boston, and there are several issues with what they have done. With that color they should have blended both the hood and left fender. The gap is off because the bumper is sagging and was not remounted properly. The park sensor in one of the photos looks to be recessed in too far and likely not painted to match. Thats just from those couple of photos. Id be pissed!

Way tooo big gap. Wing gaps should be tight. As said 3-4mm gap imo. Oem gap does look a bit naturally bigger but that needs some adjusting.

Couldnt find any closer pics.
