2020 C63S to tune or not to tune?

Hello everyone, thinking about getting 2020 C63S tuned.

RENNtech Engine Upgrade - 574hp / 612ft-lbs of torque - $2,460 out the door (no labor or tax on software)

Exhaust Valve Controller - $760 with installation

Do you guys think it’s worth it to risk warranty, anyone did anything similar, will the difference be significant?

I don’t have tune, but I have Renntech exhaust valve module.
Current price on their website is $620. I don’t know tax rate in your area, so I don’t know how much labor you are paying.
You can totally do this yourself. It takes only few minutes to install.
Actual module itself takes just few seconds to install, but most time consuming thing for first time installer is to take off plastic cover thingy inside trunk area which can take minute or two to carefully remove it.

I will consider getting tune probably next year when they offer both engine and TCU/CPC tune for 2020 c63s.

If warranty concerns you, consider Carbahn tune. Their tune is not as aggressive as Renntech, but they offer factory matching warranty tune for $2300.
Not sure if they have one available for 2020 yet. You can email them and ask.

No problem with exhaust valve module, but you can get in trouble if you get unlucky and dealer finds out you have tune.

What you think about the Valve module, does it make the car sound better or you think it's not worth the price?

Renntech EVM

I just installed the Renntech module on my 2020 C63S and it works great. It definitely opens the valves more than the console/steering wheel switch - at idle and low RPMs selecting the sport exhaust mode seems about 75% open and then switching RT module to 1 opens all the way and more rumble/volume. Always defaults to the 1 wide open position unless you set it to 2 as pass through.

may i ask where you ordered it from? To me it sounds that facelift models doesn’t have significant improvements. I always drive on a race mode, just want to make sure I don’t throw money away if it doesn’t do much you know. It’s lame that our models doesn’t sound as good as competitors from the factory.

Ordered it from Renntech online - there’s no “deals” on these but RT knows MBs inside and out and it’s a 10 min plug and play install and it just works. Yes it’s overpriced. IMO, the benefit you get with this is from idle to 3K better sound. Even in race mode the valves are not 100% open until you hit high RPMs.
