Hey "George_1992" thanks for posting this...cool thread. And you knew I was going too post eventually...LMAO
I am not sure why this forum in particular seems slow (except for the members you mentioned and I would add in "tobeit" as he seems to respond a lot) and everyone has made good points about why they think why and all together may be what's causing the lack of participation. I truly like the forum format better that FB, etc...but I am a member of a few AMG FB groups (including a local one in which we get together and do events). But even in that group there are only a few W205's and I think only two coupes that are active. Not sure of the production count but even here in PHX AZ which is a serious car MECA...there are very few W205's compared to M4's and Audi R's...BUT I am not complaining as usually I am the only W205 coupe at CnC, etc...kind of exclusive!
But you know what...keeping this forum going and making it something cool is up to us. I am guilty of not posting enough here...i.e an event I went to or something I am thinking about doing to the car, etc. I know we are all serious car enthusiast so let's start posting more stuff...then we can interact more and pick up the pace.
Just my 2 cents!

2020 AMG GTC Coupe & 2018 Macan Turbo
Since I also own a 2018 Macan Turbo, I'm also on the Macan Forum. Holy cow! We talk about politics, Porsches, upgrades, social events, how the virus has affected our everyday lives, best shows, best recipes, etc, etc, etc. It rocks. It also allows us also to discuss issues affecting us all and to see other people's points of view. It makes you really step back and see the world from a different view. I truly admire that.

Hi guys. I new to the forum and notice you don’t get many responses like you do in the Audi Forums. I still own an RS3 as well as a C63S 2019.
I can’t get a response to the best item ti use to mess around with car settings? In my Audi I use a Rosstec HEX-V2 to change things around.

From what i seen on this forum and as mentioned before, most people come on this forum and look for answers they need and after that they are gone.
I guess i am one of those as well, but i do try to reply here and there when relevant. Just not as active as certain members cos of fear of sharing the wrong information?
Another thing i have noticed is that not many people share experiences with there build or what they do to there car as well, instead they rather show it on social media such as FB and instagram (to gain approvals of others and peers)
Whereas on a forum if you share your build and information only active members or people that actively search for it will see the post.
Just my 2c!

No I like helping people. Especially if it’s a problem that I’ve had with my car or a difficult problem that spans across different brands like Brake Discs and Brake Pads.
Looks a little quieter in here than in other forums but I suppose we could fix that!!👌🏽

Definitely a different vibe than beemerpost.
Most reply’s tend to be sour , or some cr*p about you posted on the wrong forum.
ooops , my bad .
In any case , I’ll post ... with the expectation of maybe I’ll get a reply if not I’ll dig around the thread or google .
Then depart .... but ya , definitely not the same vibe .
Got my PO . Woot woot

Hello, i’m a pretty new to the AMG world. Brought a W205 C63S a few weeks ago and getting to know the car. Previous car was a RS3 and as good as that was, i am completely in love with this.
However im UK based and it seems most people are US based. Might be completely wrong but UK based I’d be happy to learn bits and pieces of you guys

i agree though, a lot of stuff has moved to quicker moving chats rather than traditional forum posts. i still do the forum posts from time to time, but i try to sell my performance mods because cars are getting much more complex now and i dont have time to answer a million questions on how to do something for free. I post enough for people that are smart enough to figure it out and see it can be done. but it seems a lot of people dont want to put in work anymore and just want it handed to them. if you want it handed to you, you gotta pay!
also, the c43 and c63 were dead for a while due to limited mods. I agree with what is said above, now that we have fuel pumps and TCU tunes, e85 maps, these cars are getting fast. on e44 with just a base map to start logging i ran a 9.17 60-130 in my c43. ive been debating getting a c63s for some time now but the traction off the line worries me for my northern climate. especially since now even my c43 spins all 4 wheels.

The problem I have with chat boards and messaging boards they are not as useable when trying to look for past threads and topics to find answers. At least not for me, Forums are much easier to be used as a repository of knowledge than instant chats and messaging boards.

Totally agree. Chats are difficult to keep up and often have multiple discussions going at the same time. I use Slack a lot for work, and it has gotten better now that you can reply to specific posts and start a separate thread, so the answers stay together, but it's still pretty bad if you want to catch up on a discussions that took place while you were away from your device or simply don't want to be interrupted constantly. The more people in a given channel the more chaotic it gets. It's kinda telling, though, that many of these chat apps are reverting back to a thread model.

Over here in Australia owners are just offloading their W205's like no tomorrow. In my 20 years of performance car ownership I've never seen this type of trend with a particular car, as in, buy a $150,000 AUD car and flog it off in a year or two 🧐
I guess some people lease etc. but it's almost like people are running.

I sold mine shortly after the factory warranty expired. As much as I love the C63S, the idea of maintaining it out of warranty was not something I wanted to entertain. And knowing myself, out of warranty means opening the flood gates to modding with bigger turbos and going down that very expensive rabbit hole of chasing power and times.
Over 4 years (did Euro Delivery in Oct 2016) in the C63S Coupe was amazing. I loved and enjoyed going sideways, power sliding, and doing rolling burnouts through 3rd gear, getting squirrelly doing hits at 60 mph with a tune and bolt-ons.
Tons of fun, kept me on my toes, and was just a beast of a car. But by the time I was done with it, I had a set of dedicated 18s with street drag radials just to get the power down and not spin on stock turbos. I’ve gotten all that traction loss and spinning out of my system, as fun (and scary) as it was.
I moved on to a ‘17 991.2 C4 a few months ago - the new owner of my Coupe now resides 3 hours away in Dallas.

This forum has lost so much owners over the past few years.
Nice ride man, you're all set now 🙂
If 911 prices ever dip in Australia i'll buy a 991.2 Carerra T in yellow with the cloth seats oh lordy 🤤
That's the car I love. And I love your car too man.

I just recently purchased my (new to me) 2018 C63 and have enjoyed finding out lots of information about the car after posting questions on here, reading previous forum postings as well as reading the owners manual lol. I for one appreciate everything that you all are doing to keep this forum up and running. As for seeing C63(s) nearby, haven't seen many and I know that there is a forum member down in San Diego as well as a few up in Orange, L.A., and Ventura Counties.

They are beasty things which you will grow to love especially if you can look past their minor build quality flaws and annoyances. Underneath is a car that's really worth holding onto.
Even though there are nicer cars out there the C63 is such riot and there's something special about it.
I know I really love my C63 because 3 years later and I still look for any excuse just to take it out and drive it 🚗🍿💥
Hopefully more owners will hold onto theirs in future.

I’d love to see more structuring of the sections at the model level. Coming from the e9x m3 section of M3post, this is truly a ghost town, much declined since the days I also was active here for the w211 e55.
I think there are 3 factors at play:
- less sales of c63 vs m3 (tons of leased models on M3post)
- c63s w205 platform is less modified by the market
- w205 has less issues. every third post of M3post was “what’s this ticking noise?” Followed by pages of fear mongering.
one thing is for sure - I waste much less time surfing the forums here vs m3post

I think the BMW guys are just way more involved in forums and modding in general. The modding and aftermarket community is much larger which means there's always new things coming out or new breakthroughs for the platform, whereas it's stayed pretty stagnant with the W205. It's been almost 6 years and it's only in the last year that TCU tuning has become available. And you would laugh if you knew how much it cost compared to a DCT tune on an M3/M4.

Figured it out - they can't afford it
After a several years of observing and questioning on here and on social media c63 groups........ the "205" C63 owners disappear off the face of the earth simply because they're actually broke and terrified of maintenance, not being able to afford this car's upkeep, and freaking out as the months go on whilst repaying a huge car loan.
Yikes....

Just to chime in - I pop in once in a while now instead of being very active. Reason is simple - I sold my C63s and moved on to a new project. Many others probably do the same. So, no more AMG in the garage but have 3 modified JDM cars and 1 German left - and in addition to the time normal live takes (family, house, job etc), I just don't have enough time to be very active on forums for cars I don't own anymore. Its been a fantastic experience and sometimes miss my AMG...but live evolves. I think what's missing is new guys coming on and taking over.
