And the specs have already been leaked. I only read the autocar article. It's full of incorrect information. It'll be a full 400V hybrid and debut the new AMG E-Turbo.

When I was in Affalterbach in 2018 I was shown the new hybrid 4 cyl engine and was told then it was the C63 engine I was looking at so sadly no chance of them just playing with us. (This is bos.amg btw👋

Yes as many posts have already discussed here, next Gen coming out in 2022 will be hybrid with M139 Engine. It's still a good engine and it's gonna be better than current/previous C63.
Electrical is the trend and everyone's going to adapt. I believe that next-gen M5 will also have a full electrical version coming out around 2024.
We will miss the cross crank V8 sound though... or just pay more and get a E63

I don't think everyone will have to adapt. Alot of folks will just keep the 4.0 V8 Bi's and the aftermarket will keep them alive for a long long time. And engineers are like every other profession, some are brilliant, some are okay and some are crap. I work in the Aerospace industry and I deal with Electro/Mechanical and Aero Engineers all day. Like I said, not all engineers are worthy of taking their words at face value-they are humans and have bias'-
