My build is currently on a ship called "Precious Ace" does anyone else out there have info of the ship your build is on and if its on the same boat? I have been waiting since April, got the VIN early November. I can find my information online & get insurance quotes the VIN is populating in data bases now. My dealer stated that it would be around Dec. 29th when the ship would reach Mercedes VPC in Brunswick, GA. It should only take a couple days to process the vehicle and then only a few more days to get it to my dealership. I am in Atlanta, GA so its only about 6 hours away from he port. Hoping its not too long after the new year.

It's not under way yet.. it's still in the port. I just google searched it... I didn't realize they stopped c class sedan production in alabama.. I missed that news. I don't know what plant they are made in now.. I would have thought South Africa but this car is shipping from Europe.

Should be East London, South Africa for the sedans and Bremen for the coupes and cabs, but you can tell from the VIN. If the VIN starts with a W then position 11 is the plant code. US built cars start with a 4 or 5. The ships come up from South Aftrica and stop in Europe before heading to the USA.

Position 11, production plant:
  • A-E Sindelfingen
  • F-H Bremen
  • J Rastatt
  • X Graz
  • T Karmann
  • V Valmet Automotive, Finland
  • L Pekan, Pahang, Malaysia
  • M Woking, England (SLR)
  • N Kecskemet, Hungary
  • R South Africa

take your VIN & plug it into this website https://m.driving-tests.org/vin-decoder/ , it will tell you some info on the car , where it was made & some specs.
If that link you sent in your message is the ship yours is on then we are on the same boat ! It began in South Africa and sailed up to Europe and should be coming to the US next. It’s probably been picking up and dropping off cars throughout the stops it’s been to 5 different ports already. The ship could be picking up the coupes from Germany at this port to bring them over to the US east coast will get deliveries first the west will follow probably a month after since it has to sail through Panama & then up the west coast.

Yep, the shipping routes essentially go around the globe. They come up from South Africa, stop in Europe, then head to the USA East coast, down to the Panama canal up the west coast and then on to Asia, Australia and eventually back to South Africa. Loading and unloading cars along the way. Not all vessels hit all those ports, but that's the general route they follow from what I've seen. As far as MB/AMG cars are concerned, the South Africa cars are picked up first and then the German made cars before heading to the USA.
